  1. I hope you didn't live in Florida at the time.
  2. A younger Biden did run in 2008 but was canceled because he wasn't black or a woman. An even younger Biden ran in 1988 but was canceled because of a plagiarized speech. The irony here is that Obama was the inspiring choice.
  3. Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line. Democrats need to be inspired where Republicans see voting as their civic duty. Republicans have been working toward this for decades, Democrats give up after two years.
  4. We voted red in 2016 and now Roe has been overturned. What specifically should the geriatric leadership be doing right now to get the senate to eliminate the filibuster? In 2018 the democrats didn't have the majority in the senate. They still don't. It's OK. Go pout and see how much better things get when the Republicans who put us here are back in power.
  5. Not seeing a state with a Democratic majority outright banning abortion.
  6. A lot of people are saying they won't actually go through with it like overturning Roe, but when it happens, OMG why didn't the Democrats stop the Republicans?
  7. The first president I voted for was Kerry. I was 19. I turned 18 when the US invaded Iraq. Kerry wasn't some inspiring progressive icon but I knew we couldn't have an escalation in Iraq.
  8. A lot of them were from non progressive states. Young people also have to realize that can't get everything they want.
  9. They will sunset it in 10 years or so. I thought overturning Roe was going to be a tough sell but look at where we are now.
  10. The problem is, a lot of those democratic senator were from red states where that legislation isn't popular. Six of those senators were from states who didn't elect a Democrat again; Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
  11. Hopefully the people who didn't vote because the Democrat wasn't appealing enough are satisfied now that Roe is overturned and will be when gay marriage is ended, voting rights overturned, and social security and Medicare eliminated.
  12. Even this meathead gets it. All though I think adding seats to the Supreme Court will be more of an uphill battle.
  13. The firing squad I was referring to was against elected Democrats and not voters.
  14. I think there's a difference between the operations Republicans run and Democrats run. What is the last piece of major legislation the Republicans passed? All the Republicans are for are judges and tax breaks. The Democrats are for passing actual legislation. It seems like we all forgot McConnell's failure in repealing Obamacare. I guess if you look at the operation as confirming judges and legislating from the bench because your ideas are so unpopular, I guess McConnell runs a better operation. It's also easier when your only base are white males vs Democrats who have to represent everyone else and different needs.
  15. Who am I firing on? I'm the one here supporting Pelosi and Schumer and all the elected Democrats and Democrats running in toss up states.
  16. You're right, I missed. Sorry, I don't read your posts very often.
  17. Yeah I'm the one with the AR15 when I still haven't gotten a straight answer on how Biden, Schumer and Pelosi are to blame for the Republicans overturning Roe. Best I got was Pelosi endorsing one representative and Biden making a comment of McConnell being reasonable.
  18. I also don't see Pelosi getting credit for playing McCarthy and getting this J6 committee and two conservatives to serve on the committee.
  19. I think she said this is her last term as speaker. I can't wait for a progressive to become speaker and come up with hit slogans such as defund the police and then blame Pelosi and Schumer.
  20. I'm countering that Republicans are the ones who ended Roe and blaming Democrats is akin to she was asking for it. I'm also arguing that this circle firing squad on Democrats by Democrats will lead to Republicans taking over and further backsliding the US. The focus should be on getting Democrats elected in the states I mentioned who have been on record as supporting an end to the filibuster instead of attacking Democrats for what Republicans did to Roe.
  21. Just remember, the states that are passing anti abortion bills are states with Republican majorities. The state that are passing pro life bills are states with Democratic majorities. California and Massachusetts just passed safe haven laws.
  22. Actually, I take that back. Rubio will end the filibuster when Republicans get control and vote to enact a national abortion ban.
