    Manning pitched three innings, 52 pitches so far for Toledo. 5 singles, 2 k and one unearned run on Nevin's bad throw at third. Walks the leadoff hitter on 7 pitches in the 4th and that's it for Manning.

    I'm sure the doctors have a plan but it's going to be slow, incremental, achievable goals that take weeks and there could be setbacks. They're going to try to avoid those setbacks as much as possible because that would just lengthen the recovery time. It's going to take time for him to learn to deal with the stress and I'm sure Major League baseball is a very stressful job.

    Do we even know if Meadows normally travels with the team? I have seen him in the dugout multiple times for home games. Not sure if I've ever seen him on the road. He may have doctors and care based in Detroit and at home in Florida but for them to travel with the team would be an extra cost.
