  1. what is their defense next year? seider, walman, and hronek seem like the only guys really sure to be back. maybe lindstrom as a bottom pairing cheap player. then what? do they really run with edvinsson, wallinder, and mcissac? i doubt it. they probably bring back staal. do they go nuts for klingborg or lindholm? at forward where are they? larkin, bert, raymond, ras, fabbri, vrana. all back for sure unless bert gets dealt. then what? no one else is especially valuable and can be easily replaced. veleno and zadina still have some projectability. it would be hard to trade them because youre not likely to get good value since theyve played so poorly so far. you probably roll with them next year and hope they progress like ras has progressed the last month.
  2. i still have serious doubts about berggren. any holland draftees are sus. soft "playmaking" winger who cant score and gets physically bullied off the puck. worst case scenario is usually what happens to holland picks these days. soderblom probably plays in grand rapids next year. i hope edvinsson can shine in TC like raymond and make the team straight outta sweden. i mean, i hope soderblom does too, but he probably needs a year in GR. wallinder's progress is exciting. maybe he comes over to GR next year too? theyre really one more off season away from being able to splurge. but i kinda want them to get a #2 center this year in order to not waste vrana like they did this year. his shot is so good.
  3. they either need to put vrana with larkin or obtain a true #1A/#2 center. suter is - at best - a #3. and vrana and zadina dont work because zadina is a smaller, inferior version of vrana. nobody on that line gets pucks in corners. maybe they hope ras grows into a center role? a big guy who can get the puck and give it to vrana? but he's too slow, imo. hertl would have been good but he's gone. not sure anyone else out there is worth signing for the wings unless they think getting rid of blashill will make a big difference. trocheck? strome? can forsberg play center?
  4. that stanley johnson pick will never not hurt me. at least luke kennard ended up being a decent nba player, but not picking booker just killed this team. fuck stan van gundy.
  5. wallinder wins top u20 player in sweden. following in seider's footsteps...
  6. of course they won.
  7. one of our mayoral candidates was paying for people's gas. he would announce that he was giving out free gas at gas station x and there would be a line of cars miles ling waiting to get there the next day. he did it for a few days.
  8. illinois did the same thing. theyre all doing it. means almost nothing to consumers but will leave big holes in the road budget.
  9. lol. wtf was that?
  10. im flying to cleveland on thursday. i'll bring my masks so i can use them after i land...
  11. the thing is, these regulations were going to expire in two weeks anyway. this judge jumped the gun. biden could have immediately appraled it and had an injunction issued. but they didnt. why not? because they want them to expire. and the cdc wants them to expire becaude the airlines want them to expire. i dont see any way you bring them back now. you can wear a mask if you want, but nobody will make you do it.
  12. they dont do much more than nothing. next thing you know, you'll tell me that if i text during takeoff the plane will crash. should airlines make everyone wear a gas mask or a haz mat suit? should they make everyone show a negative test result for any contagious disease before boarding a plane? should they put a camera in the bathroom or sensors to make sure everyone washes their hands properly before leaving the restroom? should we all submit to dna tests to make sure were not susceptible to certain diseases before they board any plane? we can go back and forth in this game all day. how far should we go as a society to make sure people dont get sick when around other people? what's the line? you have a different risk tolerance than i do.
  13. cloth masks do nothing, should we require all airlines to have each passenger wear an n95? where is your level of risk and what society should require of people to mitigate that risk? like you said, its a sliding scale.
  14. people can catch the flu on an airplane and die from it, so everyone that gets on a plane must wear a mask forever because someone on the plane might get sick.
  15. i wouldnt take willis either at 2.
  16. the argument FOR masks on planes would probably center around foreign travel, maybe? that youre bringing in outside variants and viruses from other countries? but that happens a lot. where's the end game? i imagine there are people who will continue to wear masks everywhere for the rest of their lives now.
  17. that's really the argument for willis at #2. you wont get another chance unless you want to trade your whole draft for him.
  18. maybe. but there will be a number of other teams that need a qb and think the same way. unless the lions go 3-14, they will be giving up at least 3 number one picks to move up. if they have the team around that qb to do it, then by all means "f them picks." but they wont be the only bidder, and teams at the top may want qbs themselves and be unwilling to deal.
  19. that's a good point.
  20. https://www.iata.org/en/youandiata/travelers/health/low-risk-transmission/ quality of supplied air on board an aircraft is much better than most indoor environments. This along with other cabin features including the mandatory usage of masks on board and the requirements around tests and/or vaccination certificates, make the risk of contracting COVID-19 to be very low. Nonetheless, here are some features about the cabin air quality.
  21. do you think there should be masks in bars?
  22. when do you think the risk will the risk be small enough? i think its small enough right now. especially on a plane.
  23. matt corral = baker mayfield. john dorsey took baker mayfield #1. does he pound the table for corral at 32?
  24. me neither. and they fog up my glasses. the entire point of mask mandates was that they would stop transmission of a deadly virus that was going to overwhelm the health care system. the health care system is no longer in any danger of being overwhelmed. we have treatment options for covid. we no longer require them in bars or restaurants. we dont require them at concerts. we dont require them at ANY indoor gatherings other than on planes and in transit centers. yet, there is little to no evidence that the virus passes on planes and certainly no evidence that is passes greater on planes than in other indoor spaces. so why keep the mandate on planes? i doubt this would even be a discussion among the left members of this board if the cdc had changed its guidelines, which is was going to do soon anyway.
  25. i mentioned many times about the air filtration systems in planes. so did edman if you'd rather believe him. i asked you a separate question about bars, not as a deflection because i already answered your other question. so what do you think about masks in bars?
