  1. It’s not an excuse. If you thought the Lions were going to be good THIS year, especially after the last 50 years, joke’s on you.
  2. 🤦🏻‍♂️ If anyone thought the Lions would be a good team this season that says more about them than the team. Their roster is still thin, and has been decimated by injuries. They are playing rookies out of necessity. Root for the rookies to fail if you want, but if they end up failing that is not a good sign for next season. Next season will be a major talent injection, with Jaymo being like a third first round pick, and the additional second from teasing Hock. (Do we root for Mitchell to fail down the stretch as Hock’s replacement?)
  3. Holmes is signed for five years, Campbell for six. They have three years to rebuild and a fourth year to prove it. Nobody is getting fired this year, and it would take another disastrous start for it to be considered next year. This team had one of the worst rosters in the NFL. It still does. It can't get rebuilt overnight. But next season when Jaymo is fully healthy it will be like having a third first round pick join the team, plus the two seconds and a third rounder. They could finally turn the corner.
  4. At halftime the sideline reporter pointed out that Dan Campbell said his DBs were not being physical enough with the WRs. Turns out it was a cry for help.
  5. Eh. I'm not sure it signifies anything. 2019 was not a great draft. Ten combined Pro Bowls from the first rounders and Hockenson had one of them. The other option debated at the time was Ed Oliver, who has turned into a good rotational DT for Buffalo. In retrospect he probably would have been the better choice, especially considering he will probably sign his second contract for $15 million less than Hock. Chalk one up for the people who argued about positional value.
  6. His seat doesn't get hot until Week 1 2023. They were never going to compete this season, despite what Walter Football said. Especially not with almost half their starting offense injured for almost half of the season, and a defense whose best player has arguably been a toss up between a guy coming off an Achilles tear and a guy who was picked in the sixth round.
  7. Yes, Mitchell finally got a few snaps on Sunday. I like the deal. Don’t love it, but I like it a lot more than paying Hock $50 million. That is money that needs to be spent on the secondary.
  8. Don’t you think it will be the one that can’t play defense?
  9. The defense does not have the players to stop anybody. Goff is good enough with the first team offense healthy. First pick DL, second first round pick CB, second round pick RB.
  10. With all the offensive starters on the field, they actually look pretty good.
  11. Buchelnikov does not need a lot of time or space to get off a shot. Impressive.
  12. Let's hope Holmes is searching for the best UFA safeties available in the offseason. That's two INTs dropped now in the past 15 minutes.
  13. Highest paid punter... but does anyone go for it on fourth down more frequently than Dan Campbell's Lions?
  14. I didn’t jinx it!
  15. I don’t want to jinx it but he could become an iconic player.
  16. I admit that I laughed at that one.
  17. Now would be the perfect time to trade him for draft picks! /s
  18. I bet his Super Bowl ring is inscribed with the words “Garbage Time.”
  19. “Hey Siri… how many sixth round picks can I get for a second?”
  20. I joked that Campbell would start calling the defense, but I suspect he will spend all week in defensive meeting rooms. They won’t fire Glenn, but they may shuffle coaching responsibilities down the chain.
  21. Like I said in the other thread, if they sign Lamar Jackson, let’s hope he can play safety. And maybe we don’t need Jaymo on offense. Can he play corner opposite Jeff Okudah?
  22. Lions now lead the league in TDs with 18. Philly and Baltimore have 15. If the Lions sign Lamar Jackson next season, he better be able to play safety like Ed Reed.
  23. Like the rest of them, Hutch did not seem to have been coached to know what to do with the rollouts. Seattle must have run that thirty times.
  24. Yes, as I said, Glenn never figured out what to do about the rollouts. And they still can’t slow a mobile QB.
