Yes, it crossed my mind that Raymond might be a candidate for a one-for-one trade. Maybe a trade like this makes them a little more abrasive. Maybe it blows up the locker room (and maybe that is even good). But it probably leaves you on the bubble and does not do anything to address the contracts of CCR which are still clogging things up. There is also talk about the Rangers wanting to trade Trocheck. I wonder if it would work to send Danielson and a 2027 first round pick with New York also taking Copp and his remaining contract. but I still think the best scenario is if we can trade bad contracts with Vancouver. Maybe EP40 and Raymond can pair with MBN for a second scoring line, with Larkin centering ADB and Kane on the top line. Bump Finnie to play with Danielson and maybe Lombardi on an energy line and Kasper/Mazur with Appleton or Dries or someone else on a grit line.

Crosby outperformed his draft slot partly because he was physically and technically underdeveloped as a college player. Also, he had at least one known disciplinary issue that resulted in him being suspended for the season opener in 2018. How much of all of this was related to his substance abuse issues? How much value did the Raiders get buying low on him? Hard to tell. Moore was good enough to get recruited to Michigan and to play every game as a freshman. He apparently thought he was not quite good enough to come out as a junior. But playing 50+ games at Michigan says you have a high floor, even if it leaves very few secrets or hope for untapped potential.

Yeah, if he really goes on the market Ottawa may demand an established top tier player in return I don’t think I’d be willing to give up Edvinsson unless it was part of a package to pry loose an Auston Matthews. And I can’t imagine Stevie even considering trading Larkin, let alone Larkin waiving his NTC. Stevie is backed in the corner. Will be interesting to see how he tries to wriggle out this summer. Buying low on EP40 might be his only option other than waiting for the prospects to develop.

This year’s first is not the only asset available and it certainly wouldn’t be enough. Would it take Danielson, Bear, and a 2027 first to be competitive? Would it be worth it? I’d rather stay on the bubble for another year that give up those assets. And he probably ends up in Florida anyway. But Stevie needs to fix the top-six forward hole that is throwing everything out of whack and there aren’t a lot of options.

Rolder’s instincts and run-game consistency make it hard to believe he was only a one-year starter in college. He plays low and leveraged with violent hands to shock and slip off blocks. He finds the best routes to the run gap and maneuvers around traffic with efficiency to tighten angles to the ball-carrier. He plays with good awareness and change of direction in space but has average pursuit speed and coverage talent. Few linebackers in this draft finish tackles with the technique and consistency he displays. If you trust the tape and ignore his lack of experience, Rolder profiles as a future starting inside linebacker. BY LANCE ZIERLEIN NFL Analyst

Nobody in this draft needs a DE and certainly not one from a blue chip program like Michigan and it is purely coincidental that the team Detroit traded in front of also took a DE and certainly there is no way that the head coach of that team Detroit traded in front of who was that players defensive coordinator for a national championship year had any interest in drafting him and he was a first time head coach anyway so there's no way he had any say in who was getting drafted and he would have been on the board anywhere Detroit wanted to pick him... It is insane the extent to which people invent conspiracy theories to try to disprove conclusions that are obvious.
