    You are probably right that they finish a game or two below .500, which is what most expected before the season and which would indicate progress. OTOH, they could easily beat any -- and all -- of these teams, especially if they get Jaymo soon. I'm not saying I expect them to run the table, but against a pretty weak slate of teams (save for Minnesota) it could happen.

    I trust Holmes if he sees a QB he loves, but I’d love to see another starting DL, CB, and LB, with some more depth at OL

    They had three time outs. They didn’t want to give the ball back after scoring. The problem was taking a shot on 3rd and 1 to a receiver who has missed most of the season and who was not in sync with the QB.

    Agree that the 3rd and 1 play was a disaster. They needed the first down and to milk the clock. But imagine this team next year with Jaymo, two firsts, and two seconds.

    I respect that guy and hate to see him injured, regardless of the impact on Detroit's draft position. But I hope they shut him down and he has a long offseason to heal and figure out what to do with the rest of his life. I'd love to see him win another Super Bowl, but he also deserves a long and (hopefully) healthy retirement to enjoy his family.
