  1. SF has basically given up ten points on special teams.
  2. Yeah they’ve been in the turf a lot. Plus the two big DPI fouls. But Kittle and CMC won’t give up.
  3. Yes, numerous sources “reported” the same thing. These reports were probably all repeats of one initial report. But the NFL never “announced” anything. I suspect they know he did something egregiously wrong, which is why they went to such great lengths with that ridiculous video to fix it. If it was just an ordinary blown call they would have left it alone.
  4. Yes, it was reported but I don’t think it was “announced” by the league. The league put out that farce of an explanatory video.
  5. How many 2nd or 3rd and longs are we expecting? Maybe the guy is not in elite football shape but can he go ten snaps?
  6. Three NFC North teams on the list.
  7. Yeah, and people beat up Sheila and Rod for doing it that way. And people questions bringing in Chris Spielman and wondered what his role was or if he was a third wheel. But in retrospect they could not have done any better than they did.
  8. They were all close games with the exception of Miami. They also let NE score 20, Washington score 31 (twice), and lost to the Jets. From early in the season people were commenting that Philly had lost a step from last season. Also, Philly finished 2022 1st in passing YPG allowed. In 2023 they finished 31st.
  9. The staff doesn’t see players like fans do. We complain that they put Houston in pass coverage and Campbell in multiple LB alignments. Then at the end of the season, Campbell is heating up. And in Season 3 Melifonwu is all over the field at safety. Who knows how Houston would have developed this season if he had not been injured. And this fan base was ready to ditch Anzalone but he has turned into a stud under AG. Also, the fans have complained about AG and his “adjustments” but his players voted him the top coordinator in the league because he develops them and puts them in positions to succeed. And as the season has closed, his defense is holding teams to about 24 points a game, which is enough for this offense to win games. It goes a long way with players when their coaches show faith in them. They did it with a lot of these players, not to mention Goff, and have been rewarded for that faith.
  10. They never recovered from losing CJGJ. It was evident early that they missed him, but they won some close games. SF broke them and Sirianni inexplicably decided Matty P was the guy to help him right the ship. I’m sure we will start to hear how Sirianni lost the defensive side of the locker room after that.
  11. My sentiments exactly. OTOH, Ford Field is where LaFleur started Love’s hot streak, and it would be fitting if that’s where their hot streak came to an end. Also, on Thanksgiving, Detroit only gave up nine points after a dismal opening quarter. Detroit has really tightened things up in the red zone since then, too.
  12. I thought the same thing. There are teams almost every year that back into the playoffs, and one every few years that backs into a playoff win. Detroit has been unlucky to share a division with two HOF QBs for the past three decades. TB gets to compete twice a year against the Desmond Ridders, Bryce Youngs, and Derek Carrs of the world — a has been (or a never was) and two never will bes.
  13. Detroit’s OL is healthy. That’s what stands out to me. Yes, Ragnow and Jackson were among the lowest rated offensive players in PFF’s rankings, but Aaron Donald will do that to you. As I think about it, I’d rather put that strength against SF’s defensive front, even on the road, than let GB’s young receivers run wild against Detroit’s suspect secondary.
  14. This must be the only team in the NFL against which the Lions own the all time victory mark.
  15. Wow. Epic meltdown by the Eagles. You have to think they will clean out the coaching staff.
  16. GB is hot, and already beat us at home, but I agree.
  17. OTOH Stafford was not near 100%. That may have factored in to the decision.
  18. So if GB happens to roll in and stun SF, and the Lions take care of business against the Bucs or the wounded Eagles, we would face GB in Detroit for the NFC conference championship.
  19. Playoff win with only 3 points scored in second half.
  20. Seriously you cannot let a damaged Stafford hand it off all quarter.
  21. I wondered if that was it too. He was wincing on the sideline throwing passes after they let him out of the tent.
