here come the straight up fictions about other posters. you get none of my time chief

Yeah I used the Vox AC-30 amplug for a really long time. I got the boss waza headphones now and they're really nice. They're pricey but I use them a lot and love them.
-
dude you literally brought up occupy wallstreet and ranked it equally (read: equivocation) with these freedom truckers. lol
-
it's so ridiculous
-
yeah I'll get right on that boss
-
If the truckers camped in a park they'd still be camping. Until they got cleared out exactly like Occupy Wallstreet did. So yes, you are literally arguing that they deserve special rights that occupy wallstreet did not have b/c occupy wallstreet was ended by the authorities and you seem to have issue with that happening to the truckers
-
No, it's that you made a super bad comparison. Glad to help you see how bad it was. Camping in a park doesn't equal camping in a international trade lane no matter how badly your equivocation needs it to be.

I am much the same way, I don't want to inconvenience anyone with my playing, I do a ton of repetition which would drive other people crazy. One thing I do a lot is play electrics not plugged in, which is much quieter (electrics are easier on the digits too). A middle ground sound-wise is a hollowbody electric, which will resonate a little bit louder but also play like an electric guitar (easier on the digits). I would say that 90%+ of my playing is unplugged electric guitar. I also have some headphone amp stuff that I use which gives me amplified sounds in my ears but outside still hears unplugged electric guitar. There are times I have to do stuff at rehearsal/performance levels with my amps and then I ask for forgiveness or wait until no one is home. My daughter has told me before that she actually likes hearing it in the background from the amp which I guess is cool but I still don't want to drive anyone else crazy ever.

I bet you only see kids b/c you're there during non-school hours. I have my lesson at 2pm on a weekday and the person before me in lessons is even older than my old ass. My teacher has said it's difficult to do lessons during school b/c you end up working nights/weekends.

One thing that I always struggle with w/ self paced guitar stuff is that I never know if I'm ready to move to the next step, or if I'm belaboring a step too long. Coincidentally, I started taking a martial arts class, and there are a lot of interesting parallels esp around repetition to gain muscle memory. The approach in those classes is a lot of different small things to learn/memorize/commit to memory over a longer period of time, rather than complete step 1 with intense thoroughness, move to step 2... etc. I think lessons would be helpful because you have someone there that's taught dozens of people before and can probably accurately evaluate where you are and when to learn new stuff and how to get over your specific roadblocks.
-
Lessons helped me a lot and I had already been playing for many years when I started them. I think they're worth the money if you're all in on learning to play. My lessons have made it much easier to pick up on free/cheaper content online too. I'd look for someone who will teach you about the instrument through learning songs, and not someone who will just teach you songs. I think mine are $35/half hour.

this is just more of the typical "special rights for republicans" crap we always hear. Obviously no one should be able to do anything to the folks who are intentionally trying to screw the hell out of everyone else. Or they can go get bent.
-
I wonder if these freedom truckers have the stones to do their stuntin in one of the states where the GOP allows people to run over protesters
-
Occupy Wallstreet camped in a park, not blocking a major trade route but sweet equivocation
-
beat me to it
-
wait just so I understand, MLK wasn't arrested according to Turls?
-
yeah I recall he did as well then did a jam with Elton John at the VMAs or somethign like that

MichCard, really sorry to hear. Charlie looks like a fun dog! I employ getting another dog as a grieving strategy. It works well for me. When I lost my first dog a colleague gave me a book that was written from your dogs perspective and it was that he/she would want you to take care of and enjoy another dog. We are on our 4th rescue dog. Dogs are the absolute best.

Lol at liberals who support the Trumper truckers. Uh huh. Sure chief.

No need to see how it ages. It's already crap. Mark Meadows was found in contempt of congress for defying a subpoena from the Jan 6 committee. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/house-expected-vote-mark-meadows-criminal-contempt-referral-n1285908

Can't believe no one is here to defend that.

Covid is "a godsend" to Republicans according to Republicans

Should The Olympics (as we know them) come to an end?
pfife replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in General Discussion
Well.... I can't argue everything you guys are saying here about the corruption and inequities, that's all true... but I love the olympics and really would miss them. I suspect I'm a rarity these days. I try to watch as much of it as I can when they're happening. Last night on snowboarding this dude ripped a run that the commentators were saying was literally the most difficult run anyone has ever pulled off in competition before, and the judges gave him 2nd place. Commercial, they come back, still talking about it, like the commentators are completely outraged and think it could be a mistake.... nope.... Anyways I'm not skilled enough to know whether the commentators were right but just last night you could make the case the judges screwed someone. I generally do think judges in sports suck but I still like the sports themselves. -
I've spent a number of the past few years trying to avoid listening to 90s tunes, it's my era and I oversaturated it. I saw The Eric Alper tweet something like "Wanna feel good? Listen to one of your favorite records from when you were a teenager". So I am. Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation these guys are about as much of an acquired taste as you can get honestly but if you like that taste, they're really awesome.

honestly it was weak bro
