Looks like ones own medicine doesn't taste good. Lol
  2. Congrats on the self reflection
  3. I can't really speak to the state level much but the Michigan GOP is broke as hell like Oblong mentioned. That could ve for totally other reasons though. On congressional llevel I believe Cocaine Mitch and MyKevin have monstrous super pacs that they use to fund many candidates
  4. I think there's still plenty of GOP funding it's just not at the RNC. I suspect their super pacs are still doing well. I think the GOP is tinkering with new funding mechanisms, for instance Tiny D is subbing out huge portions of his camp pain to super pacs to a level well beyond what we've seen before.
  5. Do people think Bibi would agree to the arrangement Ehud Barak agreed to?
  6. Reality: IDF has killed thousands of people the IDF, as well as many posters here, say are human shields. MotownForums: Let's come up with a hypothetical scenario where IDF isn't doing what IDF is doing and belabor it. LOL
  7. tarrifs are another great example thanks for bringing them up. As Jim Cowan said, we don't even need to rely on promises that he will do it, he already did it. Trump had a weird fascination with the trade deficit, and did all sorts of things to try to equalize trade deficits regardless of whether having a trade deficit with another nation was indicative of anything bad.
  8. he pressured Jerome Powell to keep interest rate slow and to continue QE even when, as he would always say, it was the best economy ever. That's very inflationary. ETA we repeatedly saw that he woudl chose whatever would keep the stock market high, even if that had bad consequences as not raising interest rates in a good economy obvs would.
  9. I think Biden's camp pain may and probably should have concerns about younger/more left leaning folks. Adam Parkhomenko is a Democratic operative and he's super online. I think it can be more for fund raising/enthusiasm more than converting
  10. Sometimes I think the end goal isn't really a TV commercial but more of a viral video thing
  11. yes this is a good one
  12. I don't recall if Omar clarified now, and I'm not trying to relitigate it, just trying to use it as an example of my argument, similar to as you did with the Soros trope. I also wasn't accusing you of calling Omar antisemitic, my apologies for allowing that impression. I was merely using the example to demonstrate my point.
  13. I understand your distinction but I think there are a lot of people who do not agree with it.
  14. I don't think all ethnicities have been targeted for pursuing money the way Jews have in the past, or still are. I also don't think because someone says someone else is "all about the Benjamins" and the person is Jewish means that they're leveraging that trope - they could be saying that the group/person that happens to be Jewish is pursuing money which is inherent in most (I did say all before) ethnicities and is a fundamental part of the capitalist system in which we all live. It also could be the case that Omar's antisemitic AF. Deeper analysis of other quotes could definitely show evidence of that. It's my contention that if one accuses her or anyone of antisemitism, the burden of proof is on the accuser to provide evidence and in this particular situation with this particular statement, IMO there's plenty of reasonable doubt. This is no different of a standard than we apply to accusations in this forum, and have explicitly stated it several times. Furthermore, in terms of evaluating efficacy of evidence supporting accusations, I don't find "it's not apparent to you" to be particularly convincing, which is why in legal areas we have the reasonable person standard. Maybe others do not want to apply the high legal-esque standard in this situation that I have here but to each their own. They run the risk of falsely accusing someone of antisemitism. The other side of the coin is that my standard could result in not recognizing antisemitism but I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt, metaphorically innocent until proven guilty per se.
  15. Yes that is true, but all ethnicities pursue money, and that's also capitalism
  16. Interesting, I've always thought their cultural presence was very strong, they're often called the most iconic band ever, and gross a crapload of money touring (which could be just b/c they toured constantly). But I also know they have legion of haters too
  17. yep, totally. That's why they made my list.
  18. Likewise in the accusations of antisemitism. Many claimed to see antisemitism in "All about the benjamins" when Ilhan Ohmar said that. I did not, I saw the title of the huge hit by Puff Daddy from 1997, where Benjamin is a reference to Ben Franklin on the 100 bill, a reference to money. Moreover, her reference to all about the benjamins made no sense from an antisemitic perspective and all of the sense from a pursuing money persective.
  19. A thaw in the cold war? It sure seems like Nessel screwed that up bad but I don't know enough about the details to gaslight you about it yet
  20. Totally fair. I do think PF had a really big influence though. But not as big as Beatles. LZ kinda just rocked. Maybe influential in that they inspired generations of folks to pick up instruments, I'm thinking about the Waynes World "No Stairway" sign Also to be considered, all of these 70s bands obvs stood on the shoulders of the Beatles to various extents. But the Beatles stood on Bob Dylans shoulders.
  21. Maybe we need to move to guitar thread but I think many guitarists over-distort in all sorts of situations. Sadly it took me too long to learn that I was doing it and now I run my dirt pedals around 9ock on the gain and it might still be too much
  22. In his statement he said neutralize Hamas, not remove - which is a different military goal. That said, it's a lower goal that could presumably happen with much less civilian casualties than removal of Hamas.... and some portion of his base (maybe even a large portion) still backlashed on him.
  23. More 70's suggestion: AC/DC, Black Sabbath (both super influential)
  24. As I start doing some really top notch rock and roll ad hoc sabr, I'm going with Pink Floyd and I think I'm comfortable calling them beatles-like. Some of the numbers I was looking at for record sales and tour grossing are really impressive.
  25. Yeah the Dead did that a lot too esp if we consider bluegrass as a variety of country but I don't think they're responsible for it, Eagles maybe be moreso
