  1. Former Lions QB JT O'Sullivan did a 5 part breakdown on Malik Willis. I am going to watch it tonight. If you want to watch it here are the links below. Malik Willis Part 1 Malik Willis Part 2A Malik Willis Park 2B Malik Willis Part 3 Malik Willis Part 4 Malik Willis Part 5
  2. Willis is the biggest tease in the draft. The dude makes us, scouts, analysts drool dropping dime throws like that. Here's the problem, when under duress with a defense in his face he misses that throw by a solid yard and may not even see that progression develop downfield given how often he is used to locking onto the first read and throwing it. For every Josh Allen that has a lower-end completion % in college and turns it around in the pros there are 10 Jamarcus Russell's, Akili Smith's, Paxton Lynch's, etc. I was all aboard the get rid of Stafford and go get me a young QB train. I wanted one of Fields or Lance in last years draft. I just don't think Willis is either of those players. I don't think he's Josh Allen either. I worry that we're drafting a Tyrod Taylor with a better, stronger arm.
  3. Of course if the Jets gave us 4 and 10 for pick #2 that would be everyone's favorite. But as Buddha said, that simply isn't happening.
  4. She answered it a lot better than I would have. We'll talk about my faith when you tell everyone your boyfriend's name. Just as Lindsey Graham being gay is of no mind or business to anyone else, neither is her faith.
  5. See, I think Lance is the better prospect. Lance had video game numbers with 28 TDs and 0 picks. Willis had 27 TDs but threw 12 picks. Lance had a 67% completion percentage and Willis had a 61%. From my 1,000 foot view, Lance seems to have the better football IQ too and be more capable of reading a defense, making adjustments, and going through progressions.
  6. I disagree that Clinton wasn't a horrible political leader. Outside of Reagan, policy wise, Bubba did more damage to this country than almost anyone, more than Trump I would argue. I would argue that Clinton's policy failures are partly to blame for the rise of Trump and right-wing fascism. Had Clinton embraded the legacy of FDR and worked to build on it, instead of trying to run to the right of it, we may be in a very different place as a country and the Democratic Party certainly would have been better off politically. Bubba's strident belief in deregulation, tough on crime, and free trade wrecked havoc on the middle class and working poor. He gutted welfare and social safety nets in this country and threw millions into extreme poverty. He poured gasoline on the fire of the argument that blacks were a bunch of lazy criminals who needed to be thrown off welfare and into the workforce. He surrounded himself with a whose, who of terrible economic and policy advisors like Bob Rubin, Larry Summers, Dick Morris. I don't need to go through the litany of terrible Clinton policies because we both know them all.
  7. I loosely follow college basketball and follow it a lot more now that it's tourney time. I know the consensus seems to be that this team needs shooters in the worst way possible and also another superstar to pair with Cade. If the Pistons get the #1 pick overall who is the player that best fills the need of being a potential game changer/superstar and can give us the shooting we desperately need? Looking at the stats and what highlight clips I've seen of him on YouTube, Auburn Forward Jabari Smith seems to be our best bet no? He seems like a well rounded scorer, who isn't just a volume guy, but can create his own scoring opportunities by getting open and can knock down the three. Looking at the stat line for Smith he is 43.3% 3PAr, 40.2% from three-point range. Is this our guy? Do we take Smith over Banchero, Holmgren or Ivey? Does Smith have the type of game that pairs well with Cade's game? It seems like he does based on my very amateur opinion.
  8. Walter Reuther was a significant contributor to the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 60's. Reuther and UAW leadership were quite political. Unions in the 1930s were some of FDR's biggest supporters of the New Deal. Union leadership and organizations pushed for legislation like the National Industrial Recovery Act of 1933 and the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938
  9. Felipe Franks is their only QB currently under contract. Now that they missed out on Watson and traded Ryan, you have to think they're taking a QB this year. Seems like Atlanta just became a prime trade partner for us.
  10. Guess what was stronger in the 1950s than today. UNIONS! The decline in wages can and should be correlated directly to the decline in union membership and collective bargaining power. Wages brought more purchasing power because unions negotiated better wages that stay inline with COLA adjustments and helped to hold executive pay raises and power in check.
  11. How were the 1950's a much better era? White people literally got offended by blacks drinking from the same water fountain or eating from the same lunch counter or going to the same schools as they did or riding on the same bus or whistling at white women or dating white women or marrying white women or holding the same jobs as they did or using the same public libraries or swimming in the same public pools or moving into their neighborhoods or voting or registering to vote. Not to mention lynching's, fire bombing black churches, murdering black children for allegedly looking at a white girl . . . But boy the way Glenn Miller played!
  12. I'm still comfortable with either Hutch or Thibs, but after the combine and looking more into Walker and why he wasn't quite as dominate as you'd want for a top 5 edge rusher, I feel comfortable with the Lions standing pat and taking him too.
  13. We're a pathetic franchise. The Browns get Watson, probably win a Super Bowl, and now we get to be lowly all by ourselves. I'm probably wrong but hopefully Holmes makes us less pathetic.
  14. So Jacksonville is taking Hutch or trading the pick to someone who will? I have a hard time believing there is zero chance Hutch is available at 2.
  15. That's a great commercial. At least he didn't say that it was the worst phone ever, run by the worst carrier ever, with the worst reviews ever. He had every right to say his old phone was crappy (the Lions teams he played on), the network was the worst (Lions organization is the worst franchise in major pro sports history), and the reviews were terrible (fans like me who bitched incessantly that he wasn't capable of getting it done).
  16. Just because I speak at an event sponsored by a white nationalist doesn't mean I am a white nationalist. You can't use guilt by association. I speak at white nationalist sponsored events because and you people in the media always do this to conservatives. Actually they don't. Mitt Romney is a conservative, so is Liz Cheney, so is her father Dick Cheney, so is Kay Bailey-Hutchison, and so were Bob Dole, Jack Kemp, William F. Buckley. But guess why the media doesn't or never did that to them, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T SPEAK AT EVENTS SPONSORED BY WHITE NATIONALIST LEADERS!
  17. My dad's father used to beat the shit out of him and his two brothers. I don't mean spank with a firm hand or a belt. I mean pick them up by their necks, pin them against the wall, and punch them in the stomach kind of an ass kicking. Knock them off their chairs at the kitchen table because they didn't finish their peas kind of abuse. So I'm 100% sure the abusive childhood, intermixed with the fact that their own mother abandon them and having to kill people in Vietnam, is why my dad is the racist, intolerant Trump supporter he is. I've had a theory that a fair percentage of Trump supporters (I couldn't give you a specific percentage, but I'd guess over 30-35%) have lived or do live miserable lives. People who grew up in chaotic environments, like my dad, and are damaged socially and emotionally as a result. There for, they are miserable and want others to feel as miserable as they are feeling. Their own insecurities and trauma are cast upon others, as if humanity society abandon them when they needed help the most and there for everyone should feel their scorn. In reality, a candidate like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, or any far-left Democrat would be the best for them given the policies they support. A social democracy, with generous public assistance programs, robust services, and efficient government agencies would best help these people out. It may have helped to stop or limit the trauma they experienced growing up because these agencies or services could have stepped in to help. Instead though, they vote for candidates like Trump, Paul Ryam, Majorie Taylor Greene, Mitch McConnell, and others who want to gut social welfare programs and dismantle agencies built to provide helpful social services. So it becomes a downward spiral with few resources and people who are able to step in and change their circumstances.
  18. I agree with this. I'm glad they didn't go break the bank on mid-level talent or aging players. We're not in a position yet to go gangbusters in free agency and throw around stupid money for guys like Allen Robinson, Von Miller, J.C. Jackson, etc. I'm glad they didn't do desperate things and happy to see Holmes sticking to some sort long term of plan here. So far I really like what I've watched from Brad Holmes and Co. in 1 1/2 offseasons and like the plan they are putting together by building with younger, cheaper talent for now and spending when the roster is in a position to starting winning, which isn't right now. Patience is a good thing right now and there is no need to break the bank just to try and get this team to 7-8-0 wins next season. There were a couple of players I really wanted in free agency. Marcus Williams or Jessie Bates were the big splash's I wanted them to make but they missed out on Williams and Bates resigned with the Bengals. I also wanted De'Vondre Campbell or someone of similar stature to upgrade the LB unit. But truthfully, they could just as easily acquire that type of talent in the draft too with all the capital they have.
  19. Outside of a handful of songs, I don't listen to rap or hiphop. I went on the hunt for new music to listen to outside the boundaries of what I normally listen to genre-wise. I got hooked up with a rap song called They Reminisce Over You by artists named Peter Rock & CL Smooth. I had never heard the song nor of either artist. Real solid stuff!
  20. So the millions of people Stalin killed in a famine in the 1930s were what, just a bunch of Russians?
  21. With Chark and a potential high round receiver coming onto the roster, Goff will be forced to prove whether or not he is the guy long term. He will have an adequate amount of weapons it seems.
  22. I'm still on the take Hutch or Thibs wagon at #2, but now I'll add Trevon Walker into that mix. If they can get one of the three still by trading down, I'm all about it. But I still want the Lions taking one of those three players.
  23. Damn! This sucks! It's not like end of the world sucks, but Williams was the perfect fit for our team and our coaching staff. Oh well, Safety looking more likely in the draft now. I just hope they don't have aspirations of drafting Kyle Hamilton at #2.
  24. I would love to get Myles Jack as long as it didn't involved a crazy contract.
  25. I have a feeling Charles Harris is not coming back, especially if we're going all in for Marcus Williams. Adding up the $10 million you just gave Chark up front and assuming we're going aggressively after Williams, where does the money come from for Charles Harris?
