I don't think it's fair to say schools are reopened because of the GOP. I think schools reopened as more parents demanded it, from all political sides of the aisles, and elected leaders, like Whitmer, accepted the fact that we are going to have to live with some level of Covid. Sure, the GOP and right made a stink about it, but they were doing that many months before schools reopened. It wasn't as quick as they made a stink and right there after schools went back in-person.

Two guys I wanted going into free agency were John Klingberg and Dylan Strome. Those would have been my "splash" signings with a guy like Matta added in for depth. I would have offered John Klingberg 4-5 years at $4.75mil/year and gone up to $5mil/year.

I was hoping for one more full on tank season, giving us another crack at a top 3 lottery pick. These moves today probably seal the fate of that.

Do you believe that Merrick Garland or someone in his DOJ will indict Donald Trump on a crime related to January 6th or the 2020 Election, yes or no? My answer is no and I want to be wrong in the worst way. There seems to be this horrible doctrine among people in DC, including the legal community, that the President of the United States is above the law and any penalties it may impose, I feel like Garland subscribes to that narrative, as does an institutionalist like Biden. Furthermore, they don't like the political optics of potentially prosecuting a future political opponent. I feel like we will get a half-baked, Robert Muller type of answer from the DOJ where they will point out improprieties of Trump and stop short of calling out the criminality or calling what he did criminally illegal. Thus, he will escape legal liabilities and get to do another "I was exonerated" world tour and victory lap as he did after the Mueller Investigation,.

I agree with 84. Trump seems to be a cat, with 9 lives, immune to any real accountability. I'll believe it when I see it when it comes to him facing prison time.

I'd like to think so, but there is this DC mantra about not indicting a former President and I fear Garland subscribes to it. I have lost faith that Trump will be held accountable for any of this because I feel like the White House doesn't want to "politicize" this buy indicting a man who will be Biden's opponent in 2024. I'd like to be 1,000% wrong, but I won't believe it until I see Merrick Garland's DOJ bring actual charges down on Trump.
