  1. Canha was acquired via trade from Milwaukee.
  2. I get too much to give up cable. Especially for NFL and MLB and NHL networks. Most of the streaming services suck, imo. I might be the last dinosaur, but I will stick with it as long as possible.
  3. I know, I'm talking about a situation where it's streaming instead of raw cable. The two can coexist, imo. But the new CBA is going to be really tricky, since we're getting back into the extreme haves/extreme have nots because of the Diamond crap.
  4. Yes, it would be awesome, although there might be more baseball streaming ahead? I don't want that.
  5. Lions can still get the 1st seed. If the 49ers lose to the Ravens and Rams, and the Lions win out, they clinch the 1st seed. It's plausible, but not probable.
  6. If the Lions win out, they clinch at least a two seed. If they win out and the 49ers lose to Baltimore and the Rams, then the Lions get the 1 seed.
  7. Patterson was benched for missing an extra point last week. There isn't much room for error here.
  8. Brady didn't play defense. BB was the coach and GM, and did a great job of maintaining a great team for 2 straight decades. Like the Red Wings, everything came to an end.
  9. I forgot about Zach, but I don't think Kreidler is viable, unless he's better at the plate. Eddys has played all over the infield in the Dodgers system, seems like a perfect fit. And his righthandedness would come in handy off the bench.
  10. Na, the steel could wedge into the bone. Yuck.
  11. Relax. The Lions will win. They are as healthy as they have been in a while.
  12. 20 years of winning Super Bowls shows that he's a great coach.
  13. Except for Eddys Leonard. If he hits in the spring, he should make the team. And play at multiple positions.
  14. I don't think the Tigers have a backup SS on their 40 man roster.
  15. I couldn't have said it better.
  16. The Dodgers could be deferring more salary, or paying it out over fewer years, but this estimate brings the AAV of the deal down to a hair under $43 million a year. If the real deferral ends up being anything like this number it’s a huge bargain. Aaron Judge, who was a year older at the time he signed and also, you know, doesn’t pitch, got $40 million a year from the Yankees last year. Even if the MLBPA number lands closer to $50 million, this contract is a hometown discount. Particularly because Ohtani can create value for his employer the way no other player can. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-dodgers-have-signed-shohei-ohtani-what-does-it-all-mean/
  17. Most of the 700 million is being deferred, to avoid paying luxury tax.
  18. And hits 5 homers in that series.
  19. Fangraphs has an article that argues that they paid Ohtani what he's worth, as a hitter and pitcher combined.
  20. I'll be retired by the time Ohtani is done with that contract.
  21. Another thing here is, Rushing was just drafted in 22. Cartaya is on their 40 man. Cartaya struggled offensively last year. Rogers is a much better catcher than either Cartaya or Rushing.
  22. They wouldn't give up Rogers in the deal for Rushing. Rushing can't throw, he's not going to be a catcher.
