This is why I don’t think Gibbs is a reach. People were looking for the best athletes and playmakers in this draft. Mock draft warriors aren’t inside the GM offices and seeing the big boards. I suspect there were a few teams that had Gibbs rated as high and he would have gone likely before 18. The 20s are unpredictable and Campbell was clearly the best LB in this draft. The lions got who they feel is the best RB/pass catcher and LB in this draft, both position of need.

This is the way I see it too. Watching bama last year he was the most electric player on the field. He will be spilt out, taking handoffs and can return kicks. This was a good pick, don’t let the value nerds say otherwise.

Because it’s a team friendly deal that they can easily move on from and have tons of cap space and anzalone is a really good depth guy, he got better as the year went on. Anzalone contract is marginal.

Neither will be starters. It doesn’t make sense. Take a CB with a 2nd rounder. Don’t use a 1st on that position. And a guard in the first round? Gross.

Worst outcome possible. Costa is an idiot.

Worst case scenario is a CB at 6. That would really be not good.

Deal made sense for both teams. Jets had no other option. They are all in, if they get a SB out of it then it’s for sure worth it. I don’t think they will even make the playoffs, so it will end up better for the Packers. Jets will sell tickets, merchandise and get more prime time games (no SNF in like a decade), and maybe win some games. So all good for them too.

What arm limitations did Goff have? Lots of issues with Goff, but I think arm issues isn’t one of them. The narrative has been he doesn’t have a strong arm, but thats born of fiction. He can make every throw. He doesn’t improvise or run well, but he can make all the throws.

They are trying to change the culture of winning and losing. No one will give a **** about this if they start 8-2. This will all be forgotten by the second series of the first game. It’s good offseason fodder. Culture is a dumb discussion point in sports, all people ever really mean is winning more than losing. Culture is a useless term in sports. MJ basically made his teammates cry, but he won constantly, so no one cared. No one was complaining about that culture.

You’re not conditioned to think the worst because you’re a lions fan. Thinking the worst is self taught and self managed. We are all lions fans here, not everyone thinks the worst. I don’t think this should change the draft strategy really. It’s only 6 games. That shouldn’t impact who you’re planning on having around another 5 years. People who are calling this SOL are doing it reflexively. JaMo wasn’t even part of the offense last year. Now he has to wait another 6 games. He is basically a rookie and will likely turnout fine. This doesn’t really change anything, or at least it shouldn’t.

I think this is a fair return for the trade. No issue with moving on.

They aren’t getting two first round picks this year for the 3. No way. Swapping the 6 and 3, a second rounder this year and next would be the most I would pay.

Zero chance Hooker makes it last 20. Lock of all locks he goes in the first round.
