Lol, first play of the game, all day for Goff. Could have ran for 2 yard, could have thrown it away, instead is sacked for a 3 yard loss. He has zero football IQ. None.
Lions have zero chance of winning. It will be over by halftime and we will be one more game closer to the 1st over all pick and the franchise changing Aidan Hutchinson.
I’m not a big fan of the “they have always been bad so will continue to be bad,” argument. I think it’s lazy and doesn’t provide nuance. The lions have been bad forever. Their past failures have nothing to do with how Sheila runs the team. If Sheila turns out to be awful then that’s unfortunate, but it’s a separate failure than what has been. If Holmes turns out to be a world beater drafting GM the lions will have a good football team. If he drafts like Millen or Quinn they will be bad.
Regardless of the past there is reason to be optimistic. In the next two drafts we get 4 1st round picks and will also pick at the top of the 2nd. If Holmes gets it right the lions will be good. That’s how it works.
What’s decker trade value? Lots of mocks have the jags taking an OT with their first pick. You could trade decker (former Meyer player) to the jags for their first and then take both Hutchinson and KT. Do this before Meyer quits. I’ll hang up and listen.
Raymond fields the punt at the bronco 45 and immediately runs backwards and loses 8 yards. Not once did he move forward. It’s understandable that the talent is lacking, but this team makes bad decisions across the board. Hasn’t improved as the season has gone on.
Come on. He needs to leave it to a professional. He has called 4 or 5 games and has scored over 20 just once. He is just as bad as Lynn was. Neither are good.
Let’s not pretend there wasn’t a reason given. The reason is that by Campbell calling the timeout he increased the odds the Vikings would score, because they had more time and didn’t have to use a timeout. And it did work against Campbell. Minnesota was able to call two plays that immediately put them in great position. Just happened to be that zimmer made his own terrible decisions that helped the lions.
It worked out, but odds say it shouldn’t have.
I wonder what Holmes is thinking watching this season unfold. In all his years there is no way he would have witnessed this level of ineptitude that Campbell has displayed.
