  1. These days it just seems like every "report" is linked back to some other article (referred to as a "source") where someone else is just speculating on possibilities.
  2. That's funny, because I'd rather trade Garland. Neither can play defense, but at least Mitchell can put the team on his back for a win or two. I guess nobody would want Garland's contract and that makes Mitchell easier to move with just one year (and a player option) left on his deal.
  3. Game. Set. Match.
  4. Joker is ridiculous right now (3rd quarter). Making Gobert eat that DPOY.
  5. I'd be ok with moving down and taking him.
  6. Not as your primary PG, but he can be the secondary handler and also be the lead guard when your main guy goes to the bench. At least, that's what I'm hearing/reading from the scouting reports. Of course, he'd have to guard the other team's PG on the other end due to his (lack of) size.
  7. This entire lottery is filled with dudes who could be busts. Who knows.
  8. Giddy has been pretty bad in the playoffs. I was never a huge fan of him to start with though. Kinda felt like a slightly better version of Killian.
  9. As Del said, his shooting percentage on high volume is nuts. A lot of those were taken from NBA range and he does it off the dribble, catch and shoot, and movement. He shot 60% at the rim even at his height and 50% on pull up 2s as well. The dude had a 70% TS! That’s nuts also. Also a solid passer and pick and roll player. All the tools to play next to Cade as a secondary scorer and creator and then run the offense against bench units when Cade rests. Probably not the primary guy, but good enough to run the second unit. His defensive instincts are pretty awesome as well. It’s not just the steals, he also averaged nearly a block a game. Really good hands on defense and nose for the ball. He’s going to get exploited on switches for sure though due to his size. Maybe comp him to TJ McConnell (short, pesky defender with all around skills) with Klay’s shooting game if he reaches his ceiling. Unfortunately, I doubt he makes it past Houston who needs this exact player.
  10. Givoni reporting that Topic is ok. Just a sprained knee. That could be good for the Pistons of a team SAN wants him ahead of our pick.
  11. Carter just set a combine record with the fastest 3/4 court time and measured a 42” vert. He could wind up in the top 10.
  12. Bad for him. Also bad for us. Many mocks had him going to SAN. With him off the board that basically means we now have the #6 pick. In other news, Reed Sheppard just logged the largest Max Vertical (42”) in the combine. Even if he alligator-armed it to get a few extra inches, it’s still pretty impressive. I sneaky wanted him if we didn’t land Sarr, but it’s looking more and more like he won’t last to #5. Most likely Houston will get yet another player I wanted.
  13. Why does this matter? The game clock isn't running anyway. Are they just saying he uses that time to catch his breath or something?
  14. I don't recall this, but it sounds like something I would say 😄 After all, I'm the one who wanted Ivey even if we got the #2 pick because of the tantalizing upside of guys with athleticism. Now, I have his name in the trade machine more than any other Piston player. The Lesson: The draft is a crap shoot. You can get Wiseman at #2 and Giannis at #15. The only thing I can say for certain is that the Pistons haven't developed a pick since Tayshaun Prince. Time to look for a new player development team while you're out there looking for a new PoBo, GM, Head Coach, and scouting team.
  15. Crazy series, but a lot of fun. Everyone thought Denver was cooked - some were even calling it a sweep - when the Wolves went up 2-0. Indy crushing NY today was interesting as well.
  16. Missing out on Sarr sucks, but after #1 it's all kind of the same. We're essentially paying #5 pick money for a #2 pick. Same tier of player and mocks have all of these players going at various spots. There is no consensus. You also have to look at who's in front of us. We could very well be looking at both Risacher and Matas both being available. 2 guys that you could argue we'd have been looking at if we were at #2-#4 as well. I'm also going to give some serious consideration to Shepperd if he's there. Those shooting and defensive numbers are no joke. The guy's a 55/52/83 shooter with 3.5 stocks per game, which is absolutely nuts. He's also a good secondary playmaker. Yea, he's short and that's going to cause some matchup problem, but I'll take TJ McConnell with JJ Reddick's shooting any day.
  17. By the way, Matas Buzelis is represented by Tellem. Book it.
  18. Pistons have moved down in the lottery 9 times. They moved up once, by one spot, to get Cade. We also fell from 1 to 5 twice in a row and no team has ever done that. Spurs have moved up 5 times. They've never moved down.
  19. I mean, we all knew the Spurs were moving up. After they were given Wemby last year the league needs to make sure he becomes the face of the league as fast as possible and you can’t do that on a bad team.
  20. So he was interested in the job (which would be a promotion) and the Pistons were interested in interviewing him, but the Bucks said "no". That's a sure sign of a place you don't want to work. When they actively try to stunt your career for their own gains, rather than encouraging you to fulfill your career journey even if it means an opportunity elsewhere. Not a company I'd want to work for.
  21. Say what you will about Mitchell, the criticisms are all fair, but he's been absolutely carrying the Cavs this offseason, even on a bum knee. He's been making some absolute highlight reel shots left and right.
  22. It seemed much more likely they would move KAT when everyone thought they would flame out in the playoffs. The way they're playing now, they could very well win it all.
  23. Wow. What a joke. Silver is so soft.
  24. We can now trade a future first farther out. Also, if we’re taking on KAT’s contract we’re the ones helping the TWolves. That’s a “sin contract” and you usually get assets back for that rather than giving all the assets away. I understand there would be other suitors, but not all of them can absorb the amount of cap we can.
  25. I don't love it but I don't hate it when compared to the other stars that might get traded (Lavine, Ingram, etc). Yes, he's soft as hell, but that's less of an issue now that he plays mostly PF instead of Center. He'd also be a really nice spacing fit next Cade. His defense has improved a lot, but then again I'm not sure he'll give that kind of effort on a losing team. Not sure I'd burn all the cap for it, but maybe a large portion of it. However much the TWolves need to get just under that second apron. You need the rest of that money to make a couple more moves. Bring in Claxton and make a hard push, including Ivey/Duren and a future first to get Mikal. Cade/Sasser? Mikal/Grimes Tech/Ausar KAT/Stew Claxton/Stew
