Smoking is banned in most public spaces now which has been one of best developments of my lifetime.  Good thing the Libertarians were defeated there.

I still don't see why you listed gays as a separate group.  Do you have a problem with gays?  If you are concerned about AIDS, then sexually promiscuous individuals covers that.

Smoking is also banned in a lot of private places, which is not a good thing. I don't smoke and I don't like being around other's smoke, but oppressive govt is more dangerous than cigarettes.

Most cases of AIDS are still connected to homosexual behavior. Are you saying that homosexuals are inherently promiscuous?

I don't care what people do in private. I simply mentioned those groups as other groups whose lifestyles lead to health care issues.

When it comes to COVID, your freedom ends where my respiratory system begins.

I have no desire to enter your respiratory system. Take responsibility for your own heath care. Be a man. Stay away from me, like your own experts recommend - because even if I get the jab, I could still transmit the virus, right?

Smokers, heavy drinkers and sexually promiscuous individuals have a similar responsibility, except they are not all getting sick at the same time like in a pandemic.

I am not sure why you singled out homosexuals since you are supposedly a Libertarian who wants people to live their lives as they choose.

I named four different groups. I didn't single out anyone. That noted, the AIDS epidemic did see lots of people sick in a short period of time and massively increased group heath care costs (insurance). And we are told that smoking is a huge killer, so that would mean lots of them are in hospitals at any given time.

No, but...what is the answer to my question?  Why is the USA so drastically worse than Canada?

When you have the answer for Israel, you'll probably have your own answer.

BTW, your 62% figure is from October. Lots of people have been jabbed since then. Shouldn't the problem be abating?

Nonsmokers, smokers; drinkers, non-drinkers; sexually promiscuous, monogamous, asexual; gay, bi- and straight people should all take COVID precautions.

Nice deflection and evasion. What about what their lifestyles impose on hospitals? Only the unvaxed have the responsibility to keep the hospitals clear?

Since the unvaxed are a minority, and many of them are children at little risk, that's not gonna do much to keep the hospitals clear.

Do you have a theory about why the date rate is so appalling in the USA?  It is more than 3 times greater than in Canada.  Why is that happening?  If the answer is not in the vaccination rates, then where could it be?

Being that Israel has high vaccination rates than either, and has higher and rising cases of covid, maybe the vax rate isn't preventing it.

Keeping yourself out of the hospital is perhaps biggest social responsibility pertaining to the pandemic. If the hospital gets filled to capacity, that creates all kinds of problems for everybody. Wasn't that the main reason for the shut downs in 2020?

If you want to keep people out of the hospital, stop the panic and fearmongering.

The flu kills a few hundred thousand every year. It has often worse effects than covid. If the media and establishment bang the panic drums for the flu, lots of people would be running to the hospital. But we are familiar with the flu. So we stay in bed, suffer a bit, take a couple of days off work.

That's pretty much what I did when I had covid myself.

But if we are told we might have covid, so the masses fly to the hospital in fear if they sneeze a couple times.

BTW, do smokers, drinkers, sexually promiscuous, and homosexuals have the same responsibility to keep the hospitals clear?

Didn't those shutdowns in 2020 work? Two weeks to flatten the curve? Masking? They didn't work? The first three jabs? And now we are supposed to listen to the same people who were wrong every time so far? The weatherman is more accurate.

As long as your freedoms done interfere with our freedoms.

I said, you are totally free to take as many jabs as you desire. You are also free to social distance if you feel you are at risk. Mask up if you want. Stay home from work. Avoid restaurants, sporting events, and right wing political rallies (BLM protests are okay). Whatever you think makes you feel safe.

right. Not even in the same family.

Both viruses. Lot of commonality with other SARS and corona viruses.

In any case, for two years I've seen the left appeal to the 1918 virus as justification for how the govt is handling covid 19. Glad to see you finally admitting they should not treat covid 19 the same as they handled the 1918 virus.

I said that all along, but it's good to see you guys catching up.
