The Athletic power rankings have Detroit 6th in the league.  They have the Pistons 4th in the east behind NYK, Cleveland, and Philly.

Duren would be much better off going to another team.  His playoff life will continue to be miserable as long as Thompson's man can stand near the lane all game and clog up the middle.

Don't sleep on Toronto.  

They also took Cleveland to 7 games last year.  They did it without Quickley playing a single game and Ingram missing 3 games.  They are a top 5 defense with multiple guys that can score.  If CMB makes a jump from his rookie season, Toronto could be difficult to deal with in the playoffs, with or without Kawhi.

DK has them in roughly the same spot.  Tied for 5th with Cleveland and Toronto.  

I think it goes into September.  Both sides will play chicken with the Oct 1st deadline to sign the qualifying offer.

Presti takes care of his guys when he ships them out.  He has made three trades this summer.  Two landed in Atlanta and one in Detroit.  He didn't ship them off to a terrible team like Sacramento or something.

Good move all around.  I doubt Risacher ever amounts to much, but worth a shot for Dallas at that price.
