Well, that is certainly a take. I think they lose to OKC and San Antonio, and it's a tossup with Boston. Nobody else in the east concerns me after Boston. So I would have them 3rd or 4th I guess. Assuming Cade is relatively healthy of course.

My understanding is the FIA can change any regulation without approval from teams if it is safety related. The Bearman thing would qualify IMO. For qualifying, just turn off the harvesting for the hot laps. I'm sure its just a few lines of code that could shut it off or something like that. Let it harvest on their outlap, they then switch the engine mode to qualifying, and it shuts off the harvesting, but you still have one full battery to deploy for the lap. As bad as I think things are right now, I don't think any one team is getting an advantage. Mercedes would be the top team with or without the battery/harvesting situation. So that is good at least.

My end of season award picks. MVP 1. Wemby - Best two way player wins it 2. SGA - His defense is better than Jokic and Luka DPOY 1. Wemby - He will be the favorite any year he plays 65+ games 2. Scottie Barnes - Everyone will have Chet or Gobert here. I think in the three point era that perimeter defense is undervalued and Barnes is the best perimeter defender this year that is eligible. Ausar would be my pick here, but I don't think he will qualify for awards. 6 MOY 1 - Naz Reid - No strong feelings on this one. Pritchard has started 50 games so I can't count him as a 6th man. 2 - Keldon Johnson ROY 1. Kon Knueppel - Coin flip with Cooper Flagg. I give the nod to Kon because he is doing it in meaningful games plus he is going to lead the league in made 3 pointers. 2. Cooper Flagg 3. VJ Edgecombe - Had a good enough season to win it most years. COY 1. Joe Mazulla - Almost as big of a lock as Wemby for DPOY. Most picked Boston to be a playin team at best. 2. Mitch Johnson MIP 1. Nickeil Alexander-Walker - From 9 PPG to 20 PPG is impressive. He isn't just chucking either. His TS% has actually gone up 2 points. 2. Yesterday's Hornets game was a great example of why nobody should fear them in the playoffs. They have absolutely nobody that can attack the rim. It's just a bunch of guys standing around jacking up 3's. People say that about Boston, but Brown and Tatum can get downhill. Heck, put White or Pritchard on Charlotte, and they would immediately be their best rim attackers, that's how bleak it is in Charlotte.

Timberwolves might be the most disappointing team of the season. Back to back conference finals appearances and they are going to be on the road to start the playoffs? Not sure how they fix it. Their pick is in the 20s, Gobert is getting older, Randle clearly isn't the 2nd guy they wanted him to be. They really miss NAW. No cap space to work with. Houston might challenge them for most disappointing I guess.

Robinson will never be replaced unless his replacement can equal his shooting. If you replace him with a ****ty shooter like Huerter it might as well be Ron and get some defensive value.
