  1. This will not make fees go away, just lower them. Our pricing model includes CC fees in it. So yes, a lower fee for us is a lower price for our customer.
  2. Our customers are a bit older. 35+ 40+ types. I bet you are right on the under 35 crowd. Wouldn't shock me if their credit/debit card use is over 95%.
  3. Yep. All cards have different fees. A single company will have different fees based on which card you have. Just a straight up CC will have a lower transaction fee than a rewards card. American Express has the highest fees. Visa, MC, and Discover all normally top out around 2.4% + 10 cents. American Express is something like 3.3% + 10 cents. Then each card has an assessment fee of .13-.15%. A lot of the fees are based on volume. Walmart is charged a much lower fee since they do billions in transactions a year compared to us that will only do a few million. And the more volume you do the more negotiating power you have on fees. Yeah, we could never go cash only. 80-85% of our sales are on credit/debit cards.
  4. No. That has nothing to do with this. Paying or not paying things off doesn't come into play here. When you use a CC at a business we are charged a fee to process it. I pass that fee onto you via higher prices. Rewards cards have the highest fees, so we set prices off of those. That means all of my items now cost more because of those rewards cards. You pay a higher fee to buy an item. I don't pocket the fee, it simply passes onto the CC company who is now the only winner in the deal.
  5. Rewards cards are giant scams. Huge shell game where the money always funnels back to the CC company. Rewards cards charge the highest fees by far. We adjust our prices to meet those higher fees when we sell the public some goods. So now to get your cash back or travel points you are paying a higher price for the item you purchased. So it saves you nothing. Even though I am selling goods at a higher price, none of that is going into my pocket since I am just matching the higher interchange fees from the CC company. The only winner here is the CC companies. Some isolated incidents you will come out ahead. Amex has a card with 6% back on groceries and streaming services. Consumers definitely come out ahead on those type of deals. But the 1%, 1.5% cash back deals, probably not.
  6. Best Buy has a pretty good price match guarantee. If they have the identical monitor as Micro Center they will match the price. We have used it in the past and it was pain free. And it will save you a drive.
  7. How many players have wrapped up the MVP award before we sing Auld Lang Syne?
  8. I was sad when they took New Yankee Workshop off the air. Just found out they have started a Youtube channel and are uploading old episodes. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnWRRwGB6-QZ9rxcWifx5Lg
  9. Cheap shot from Mo. But Killian is a bitch for not only hitting someone in the back of the head, but using his elbow, not even a punch. What a twat. He should get 10 games IMO. Hitting someone in the back of the head is really dangerous.
  10. In a straight line he is one of the fastest players in the game. But Ivey does not have a lot of lateral quickness and that is what you need for defense.
  11. They went on to win it and Luka had a triple double. 60 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists. Another efficient performance. He shot 21-31 from the field.
  12. You will have a very difficult time naming any player who demanded a trade and got it with 3+ years on his deal. It is always guys with a year or two left. Or guys like PG13 and AD who told their team they would not sign with them in their upcoming free agency, so it allowed their teams to at least get some value for them. KD didn't get his trade, at least yet. Kobe didn't get his.
  13. That is irrelevant. He does not have a no trade clause and he has 4 years left on his contract after this year. If Weaver can't build a team around him in four years where he wants to stay, well we need to have an entirely different discussion. You have to imagine we would be the #1 team Dallas wants to deal with if we held the #1 pick. Assuming no other teams are wanting to part with a Zion/Jokic/Giannis type player. Maybe if OKC had #2 and could offer Scoot, SGA, and multiple first round picks that would be more attractive. But Victor is the biggest prize since Lebron.
  14. Mark Cuban: Bitcoin Is a Good Investment, Gold Investors Are Dumb Proof you do not need to be smart to be rich. Cuban is the ultimate 'right place right time' guy. Extremely lucky to have started his company during the dot com boom where people were throwing around crazy money to buy any type of internet company. But he isn't even the dumbest guy on that TV show.
  15. Let me toss this out there. Say Detroit gets the #1 pick and Luka demands a trade. Would ya? I mean it will cost you Victor plus Ivey and I imagine at least two future 1st round picks. But its Luka. Luka and Cade together would be a lot of fun. Both are buckets and both can average 10 assists per game. You can put the ball in either ones hands at the end of a game. You still have Stew, Duren, Bey, and Hayes if he continues to improve. But here is the kicker. Luka is the only one on a huge contract. So you have space to sign another max guy. Or split it up and sign two really good, but not max guys. With Luka we would be a free agent destination. I would do it in a heartbeat.
  16. Watching last nights Mavs game against Houston. Luka is insane. 50 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists in the win. He shot 56% from the field and 50% from three, so it was not a chuck fest. Dallas is awful and without Luka would challenge Detroit for the worst record in the league. Of course 3 of their 5 starters last night were former Pistons, so that makes sense. They have done a horrible job building around Doncic. I wont be shocked if he demands a trade this summer.
  17. Eh, free agents are tough for a bad team. No max player is coming here. Anyone else will need to be overpaid so you have to be careful you don't end up with a Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva situation. They might be better off continuing to take on contracts for assets like they did with Burks.
  18. This gives a lot of reasons why I like Apple. https://seekingalpha.com/article/4566064-apple-stock-3-reasons-invest-2023 Toss in I think they are one of the best run companies with the best CEO. My biggest complaint is they have done nothing to develop their cloud services. They are really falling behind Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc.
