  1. Well, that’s it. When I go for my physical next week, I’m telling the nurse to put down 5’3”.  Last time I was there, they rounded down to 5’1”.

since I’m moving, I’ll be looking for a new primary care physician anyway. And I’m gonna just tell the new nurse “let’s start with 5’3”.

note:  I’ve lied about my height since high school…. Then, somewhere, a doctor’s office actually measured me.  Damn.

I am returning to that lie now.  And nobody better argue with me.  5’3” it is.

That NYT lawsuit is amazingly Emperor's New Clothsy (ENC).   He has never made a mistake and everyone loves him according to the filing.  He's only disliked by jealous people who lack his superior genetic make up.

Awesome.  Let’s get him in a room and answering questions - discovery.  And ask the Epstein questions.

Are they still maintaining the fiction that the victims were young women? Or, even worse, "underage women"? I sense that the apparent attempt to dehorrify the crimes in the service of one man is purposeful.

When I see them referred with that phrase, I want to jump through my screen and scream at them.
    Children.
They were groomed. And they were children.

I’m tired of being this angry. Where have the normal people gone in this government?

Trying to exist in this kakistocracy becomes more impossible and more exhausting every day.

    ****ing A.

That he did the hosting duties for this show  is, imo, so terribly wrong.  That Stephen Miller was his guest is despicable.
    Good lord.
We are staring into the abyss.

  5. But I’m sure ICE hires only the best people! The smartest!  they’re not in it for the bonus money! They’re Patriots doing their patriotic duty joining ICE, and they’re always educated! They know all about things!

    Come on.

Just like their fearless leader, the orange menace….. Stupidity is preferred. Ignorance is preferred. Cruelty is the point.
Who can be surprised by any of this? Absolutely no one.

  6. Copied from a friend of mine. (Not sure where she may have seen&copied)

    ============================

Here is how you, personally, can help reduce the temperature in the country, and move us collectively away from the political extremes: the next time you plan to listen to a podcast, turn on music instead. The next time you plan to scroll social media before bed, read a fiction book instead. The next time you plan to turn on cable news, go outside and breathe in fresh air for 15 minutes. And then make those things a habit at least once or twice a week for the foreseeable future. Our algorithms are killing us. Quite literally.

@smr-nj Sue, looking like you have this one…

Listen, I’ve watched the Yankees bullpen blow leads in the seventh eighth and ninth innings this year, stay tuned for the whole game, because I’m telling you it ain’t over till it’s over. (Borrowed that for my old Paisan Yogi Berra)

on the other hand, I am done for the night with baseball.

Aaron Judge has just moved in to a tie with Joe DiMaggio for fourth on the all-time Yankee Homer’s list. I don’t need to see anymore tonight.

    Ciao, guys.

Cam Schlittler the Yankees starter has a name you have to fight for just like Dylan Dingler.

I can’t imagine what it’s been like for him to go through life with that name. Lol.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that my team is going to pull one game out of this series and tonight’s the game. Although as in previous two nights, I won’t be watching the game after about the third ending anyway. So I’ll have to find out in the morning whether or not my prediction comes true.

have a good night, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the game. 🙂

  9. 10:28 North Tower collapses.

i spend much of that day desperately trying to reach my sister, who lived in Manhattan, by phone.  Wasn’t successful until i eventually realized cell tower calls weren’t getting through.  I reached her by email later that afternoon. She previously worked about two or three blocks away from the World Trade Center, but had been laid off about a month previous, but I knew every week she was down there visiting with friends and coworkers and networking so she could find her next job.

I just didn’t know if she was down there that morning. Thankfully, she was not. That was the scariest six or seven hours ever to me.

  10. Like I do every year, I am listening to the 9/11 memorial reading of the names.

First plane hit the tower 8:46.
I recall it was the most beautiful fall day.

Please implore your congressional representatives to keep the funding for those firemen & others who are still suffering from severe health issues from working in the rubble for many of those subsequent days.

Just for the fun of it I compiled some numbers from the 7th innning:

    Hits: 5
    Walks 4
    HBP: 1
    Outs: 3
    Ks: 0

56 pitches where thrown by the Yankees, of them the Tigers swung on 19 of them... About a 1/3 swing rate... but honestly that was only because Hill (the third guy in) started throwing strikes.

Before Hill came in 36 pitches were throw with 9 plate appearances. The Tigers swung 7 times. Less than 20% of the pitches offered by the first two pitchers were swung at.

Hill accounted for 1 hit, 1 walk and all three outs. That means that the entire Tigers team came to the plate before a single out was recorded. Cruz and Leiter both had infinite ERAs in that outing.

I’m so glad I opted out of watching last night’s game after the 3rd inning.  When I heard about the 7th inning massacre the next morning, I had to laugh.  how else could I react?
I’ve watched the Yanks enough this season to see that they still haven’t quite learned to produce runs other than w/home runs.
