  1. This is a triple gold night for me here in Jersey: 🌟🌟🌟

#1 - I get to see Detroit play! - (on the local Mets broadcast station).

#2 - Tigers come through in a big way in the 10th…. With the help of really awful Mets fielding.

#3 - Mets fans will still be crying themselves to sleep tonight.

    Perfection. 😂

btw, that Foley guy is incredible.

  2. Oh my god, do you realize how many daily protests of “whatever” happen in NYC ?

Cops are keeping the peace as best they can and don’t do the “arrest and remove” unless absolutely necessary.  They’re the ultimate battle tested police force in this country, and do a terrific job.

And, MB, your responses of “ok” are so juvenile.

    That’s my .02 for today.
Peace to all of you .

    Enjoy your weekend. ☮️

What you're doing is using your mod powers to take a side on an issue you have clearly shown yourself to be biased on.  Absolutely cowardly garbage on your part, something a 14 year old mod on a message board would do back in the early days of the internet.  Guess you just never grew out of it.

lol.  Well, I’m also a senior citizen woman (note:for sure not 14 either) moderator here, and I’m also telling you that your behavior here kinda stinks… and if you don’t want to moderate you own tone, um, yeah…feel free to  get the **** out.

    Really.

    well idk about many.... haha

Well, let me qualify that by saying that there are a few, those who aren’t currently in Congress, and those who have been defeated in their most recent primaries by some Maga asshole candidate. 😂

Rhonda Romney got fired, I think it was less than 1 full scaramucci

Yeah, I was glad to just read that.  It was a ridiculously bad decision to hire her.

There are many GOP people that could serve as a commentator who can present a conservative perspective that aren’t lying assholes.

What is happening is pretty clear, the people who control the mob right now are doing this so they don't have to raise their taxes to pay for your well-being aka social security.   The mob is excited to do whatever the AntiChrist wants them to do because they are certain that the other side are against their dear leader.

How soon before those purple roofed “Ethicsl Suicide Parlors”* start popping up next to Applebee’s (…. substituted because HoJo’s no longer exist)

*(I am guessing a few here will understand the reference.) 🙂

  7. Ronna McDaniel hired by MSNBC.

Some comments: “…. They just hired an election denying, racist, pro-fascist, homophobic pathological liar as their latest political contributor/commentator.  In other words, they will pay her to lie for Trump during an election year.”

Another person likened hiring her as a political commentator to “hiring Jeffrey Dahmer as a dietary advisor”.

    ======================+
My reaction to this hiring? BOOOO. She’s got no place at a table discussing news.. because she wouldn’t know a truth if it smacked her in the face.

In terms of this case, I suspect and hope you're right.  But again, no one actually lost money here.  If you sued someone because you were defrauded out of money, I certainly hope you would get the money if it was awarded to you.  But if you sued on a technicality and never experienced any loss and then were gloating daily and pointing out how much interest you're making from the delay, I don't think you'd have 100% independent support.

My sister (who lived in nyc for quite a few years w/first husband) personally knew 2 people who had suits filed against Trump for non-payment on work they did in Trump properties.  He kept them in court over and over and over (sound familiar?) until they needed to back off because it was causing their own businesses to fail.

This is more than 20 years ago.  He’s been cheating people his whole life.

And still, not being made to pay up.

LOL at FoxNews running a telethon for trump.   Best get some tote bags printed up

    Are they really?

That is creepy, and kinda dishonorable.  Like they’re helping him steal from the common man.

    Ick factor off the charts.

It looks like the former guy is getting the old gang back together.

Makes it easier to funnel secrets to his handlers and launder dirty money.

These guys are like cockroaches. You think you’ve exterminated them, but when you switch the lights on, they’re all over the place.

  11. So, we really have come to the point where, in ONE speech, in ONE day, we have a former president of these United States:

    1. make his audience rise, and HONOR those Jan 6th criminals that he refers to as heroes/patriots/hostages - and sing.

    2. refer to migrants as non-human /animals.

    3. promise a bloodbath if he loses.

….. and it’s hardly made note of, or worse, excused.  Have we been this desensitized that we wave a hand and wait for whatever bull**** he’ll spew tomorrow, without blinking?

I am deeply worried. Horrified, actually. Scared.

Really enjoy the writing and the weird dream type sequences in Goliath.  Another one we just got back into...we started season 4, but then something came up and now are back at it, only a couple episodes left.

I love how Billys character just negotiates billion dollar deals in seconds with pretty much no prep work.  This last season is a nice reminder of how things are in RL, but people just prefer not to accept it.

I just started watching Goliath, kind of out of the blue… I’m only on season 1, episode 2, but I really like it a lot. 👍

The Bear has already been renewed for season 4. They said shooting will start right after they finish shooting season 3.

    Season 3 premiers in June.

    Can’t wait 🎉

  14. …. It doesn’t take a lot of self-control to just be courteous when discussing religion (i.e. not resorting to snotty or condescending responses), so maybe it’s a course direction some here should consider.

Having said that, I’ll reiterate my years old personal opinion that a “Religion” thread isn’t a great idea. 🙂  Faith is a personal issue, and perhaps it’s better (for me) to not give people a reason to climb up onto that high horse and pontificate.

    General thought:

As a kid I stayed home from school one day and my dad and I watched Paris, Texas.  A Sam Shepard written film directed by a German that as very American.  Harry Dean Stanton as a drifter who comes back and finds his son and ex wife.  This movie captivated me then and in the few times I've seen it since, including bits of it a few years ago when I saw it on HBO Max.  I saw a reference to it as I guess Beyonce's new country video paid tribute to it.  So I watched again.  Still holds up.  It's pace is slow but the music makes up for it. There's a great sequence between Stanton and Natassja Kinski.  The camera hold still on her face for like 5 minutes as the gravity of what she's hearing becomes evident and tears start to come out.  They are talking through a one way mirror and Stanton turns around so the camera can stay still on both of them while talking, then that's repeated later on where Kinnski does the same.  This negates the use of camera cuts and the viewer is made to feel like they are in the room with them.   I love movies that ask the viewer to engage and make an effort and be patient.  This does that.  Stanton doesn't speak for like 20 minutes at least.

Just a great great movie and if you have Max I encoruage you to give it a try.  Harry Dean Stanton said it's his favorite movie of his.

    I don’t think I’ve ever seen it.

I have MAX.. I will look for it & watch.
