I'm not happy with this most recent loss to the Red Sox, but I'm relieved Scott Harris didn't sign Skubal to a long term $200 million dollar contract. Skubal's value to other MLB teams just plummeted to $21 million over the next three seasons. Skubal must prove he can pitch in high leverage situations again.

Is JV close to being activated from the IL?

The McGonigle contract extension appears to be a good move. Keep him out of the free agent market. We small market teams don't need to help the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets and Phillies get better at our expense.

The Red Sox just fired Alex Cora and almost all of his coaching staff. Chad Tracy has been promoted for Worcester to Boston as interim manager. John Henry and the Fenway Group definitely have the money to convince Hinch to leave the Tigers.

Spencer Torkelson shows us flashes of brilliance. I just wish he was more consistent more than once or twice a week.

The Tigers are just not a good ball club. They need hitters to replace Verling and Torkelson. I know replacing Verling and Torkelson is easier said than done.

Should we question Skubal's off-season conditioning? That guy wants $450 million and can't go more than six innings. The Brewers also use bunt plays to perfection. I wish AJ Hinch would work on fundamentals with this Tigers club.

DFA Anderson and move Flaherty to the bullpen when Verlander is off the IL. Six walks by Flaherty. The Tigers are lucky the Red Sox didn't score 12 runs or more. Today, I really believe Flaherty didn't want to pitch in this game for the Tigers. He looked like he wanted to be somewhere else.

I know managers don't like to see their teams make the first or third out of an inning at third base, but AJ refuses to put any runners in motion. Scott Harris or AJ Hinch? One of them should loose their job because of this catastrophic collapse. The current brand of baseball, being played by the Detroit Tigers, would not be tolerated in New York, Los Angeles or Philadelphia. The Detroit Tigers have become MLB's version of the Miami Dolphins. Soft and no desire to even compete. How many runs has Joey Cora cost this team this season? Keep Chris Fetter but send the rest of AJ's coaches down the road.

Right now, I might keep Chase Lee, Will Vest and Tarik Skubal but trade or DFA everyone else on this pitching staff. Tigers fans are also seeing what at terrible GM Al Avila was. Matt Manning, Casey Mize, Alex Lange, Bo Brieske, Jace Jung and Spencer Torkelson are all fifth rate players.

I'm sounding the alarm now!! Tigers will have major difficulty making the playoffs this season. How did Skuball become such trash in one week? Scott Harris should also DFA somebody to send a message to this team. Tigers are getting way too comfortable believe the hype.
