55 yard successful kick from Bates. It doesn't count because defense jumped offsides and that gave the Panthers first down.

Panthers gain 12 yards and stall our again, just Bates kicks it from 43 and this one will count.

have the Lions signed Bates yet?

What does Tork have to do to get benched? Attack a teammate? Slash Hinch's tires? Seriously...Torkelbust should be sent to Erie...do not pass Toledo...do not collect $200 million. Just....go away. Addition by subtraction.

he should be benched just for inventing the stupid pizza spear

I'm still on DirecTV, and I'll probably stick with it for a while.

For one thing, I've negotiated $80 or so a month off the topline price to something more reasonable. For another, I like the convenience of channel numbers, and channel neighborhoods, and surfing.

I'm not so keen on having to rely on search because sometimes I just want to browse, and browsing the DTV menu has a comfortable familiarity to it (I've been with them since 1999). When I browse the streamers, 95% of what I see are of a certain type of action-adventure-thriller-horror-scifi-reality-franchise fare.

I also like how everything on DTV is centralized in one app, versus having to travel around three or four different streamers. Apple TV does centralize several streamers on their home page, although not all.

Also, not for nothing, much of what I see on DTV is also available to me in streaming as long as I input my login credentials on the various network sites.

And when it comes to baseball, my MLB Extra Innings package not only gets me the convenience of surfing games that offer both broadcasts, but I also get MLB.tv plus MLB audio gratis along with it anyway.

Lastly, I'm in a sharing arrangement where I provide the DTV credentials, and I get Netflix, Hulu, Disney, ESPN, and YouTube TV in return.

So yeah, I think I'll stick with it for a while longer.

thats my problem with all theses apps is you cant surf thru them if you watching something on the MLB app on my tv its a pain to switch to live TV and back during commerical breaks

I think pitching heavy wins period. The question of holding up is all about the high injury probability and nobody seems to have a  handle on that. I have to wonder with all the sci/tech this this org is bringing if they are just doing it 100% cynically, teaching guys to max out regardless of the consequences, or if and how much they are mixing in a component of trying to figure out how to keep guys healthy. On one hand, the conventional wisdom is that injuries are tracking up in the pursuit of veto and there is no question the Tigers pursue veto - OTOH, there has been a fair amount of reporting that the Tigers pursuit of veto is largely around increasing leg drive, which in theory at least could give you more velo with less arm strain. I guess we find out how many guys are still standing come August!

the fact that it seemed like every pitcher added velo during the off season has me concerned a little... stuff like that doesnt always come without some cost

If the idea behind this is boy what a good start for a change, then I would consider March/April taken together, which websites already do, in which case we are already there!

I think with a team that is pitching heavy you are more then likely going to start off the season better then must hitting heavy teams so when the hitting in general gets better with the warmer weather will the pitching hold up at this level? I think thats the 20 million dollar question

Exactly. This was the Harris/Hinch stated strategy. They would have liked to have done it last year were it not for the 800-pound gorilla.

there was a Baseball prospectus article about DH rest day arent that helpful that playing the field most of the time isnt really that more taxing, you would be better off with a full time DH and giving players actual days off .... Its a pay article I heard other people talk about it
