Law hates the Tigers again
I’ve loved the Tigers’ drafts the last couple of years, and those players’ performances in pro ball to date have been outstanding, but I didn’t like the Tigers’ Day 1 at all this time around.
Their first-rounder, Jordan Yost, has no power and at best is a leadoff-type with speed and maybe a higher average/OBP because he makes a lot of contact. Catcher Michael Oliveto is an intriguing upside play, with power potential and the physical tools to stay back there, but he was more of a fourth-round talent for me because he just has a long way to go and because high school catchers have such a high attrition rate. Second-rounder Malachi Witherspoon has a great arm and is an excellent athlete like his brother, Kyson, but he’s a pure reliever and I wouldn’t go that route in the second round.
its hard not trust a guy whos turned around a franchise in 2 years ... not like we're picking in the top ten at this position these guys are for the most part lottery tickets

Have a feelin' Tiger's will crush it today. But they are reelin' with the pitching. I'm glad they built a huge lead and have a long time to try to mend tgings until Play-Off time.
i dont know Flaherty hasnt been top notch lately

Might not be the worst thing to get smacked around in a series before the trade deadline. Might be the extra motivation needed to add some pieces.
the trade deadline isnt until a few more weeks the draft is sunday and the all star game is tuesday

I know there’s a certain strategy to how you use your pen, but it just seems that leaving Lee out there that long is a miscalculation. Is no one else available?
some times i wonder if Hinch is just. stubborn ... the pitch change is suppose to work

zach thats guy that doesnt get the memo that the game is suppose to be over lol

so Oscar gets the same penalty that Max got for running George off the track... that doesnt seem right

Partly sunny? Does this mean winter is finally over and the ground hog is scurrying about? And a 7:10 PM start time instead of 6:40 PM?
you never know what might pop up in the midwest on a hot humid day

Yup. Didn’t blow up the bullpen today. Still an opportunity to salvage a win out of this series tomorrow. Day off Monday. So, there will be pitching options tomorrow if needed.
is there an opener that can give up 5 runs tomorrow?

We need to get Flaherty straightened out and Olson back. Is there any help down on the farm? I don't see Harris trading any of our top prospects for quality arms but maybe he will?
good thing we have some guys that arent the top prospects like Hamm, Lee, Jung and Max Anderson that have value

the bullpen isnt good enough to do the opener
