  1. %#&@n’ Scherzer. I’m just enough of a petty SOB to hate seeing ex-Tigers do well. It’s a flaw in my character but I can’t help it.
  2. Dodgers grab a 2-1 lead in the 6th. It’s starting to look fairly inevitable.
  3. Whenever we allow awareness of his bone-deep racism to let us forget about his pathological misogyny, Pig-King finds a way to refresh our memory.
  4. I swear it sounds like TBS has mikes embedded in the bats.
  5. For me the lack of investment is actually part of the appeal. I can enjoy the various ups and downs and twists and turns without worrying about the result. I can never entirely enjoy a playoff game involving the Tigers until it’s over, and only then if/when they’ve won it. Objectively speaking, Game 5 at Seattle, Game 162 in ‘09, etc. were all-time classics; I doubt l will ever watch either again, because all I’ll see is disappointment at what could have been.
  6. Sounds about right. I went there to a roof-open game too which may have colored my impressions. I remember liking how nice and roomy the concourses were. lordstanley, I think there are some but they’re mostly confined to the western end (Ironwood, etc.).
  7. Anybody here ever been to a game in Milwaukee? It’s actually pretty nice for a giant carport.
  8. Video of that janky DP https://www.threads.com/@mlb/post/DPxVj85gLrt?xmt=AQF0kbGi0N33IhiUf5scqeB0B7vhotNw-9reqlig6S0dSg&slof=1
  9. If only their scorebug was legible without a cartoonishly oversized magnifying glass.
  10. The Mariners are marinating, as Ernie used to say.
  11. Springer HRs to give Toronto the first lead in Game 1.
  12. The Brew Crew wins it. I hope they put up a decent showing vs. the Dodgers.
  13. Impressive outing by Misiorowski for the Brewers tonight. 2-1 MIL in the fifth.
  14. Wait, your work schedule interferes with the postseason? Does this mean we should hold you responsible for last night?
  15. So, I'm just sitting here thinking that It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. I dunno, just a thought I came up with right off the top of my head.
  16. Is Skubal rested enough to pitch again?
  17. This game = an all-time classic that still holds up all these years later.
  18. The real winners tonight are the Blue Jays, I suspect.
