I don't think it changes much in terms of the overall race dynamics, the blue wall is important (with PA being the most paramount), but having contingency plans in the event that those states don't sweep seems key.

Nate Cohn weighs in on early polls showing some tightening in Georgia... It's one state (along with NC) where I think Kamala is a real net plus over Biden. Still need to focus more on the blue wall, but winning the Presidency is much much easier if GA is close / in play

Also had some level of charisma. Palin was able to work a room, or at least ones filled with Rs anyway. JD Vance has never, to-date, been able to work a room in a political setting. Maybe that will change, but it isn't new... He was a bad candidate when he ran for Senate l, doesn't appear to have learned much

Walz has been using the "these guys are weird" line for a while, and it's pretty effective. He's a dark horse pick for sure, and his electoral record is one of the better ones (particularly the years in Congress running in a red-trending district and winning)

He has a much better campaign team this time versus last runs and they will respond with something more effective than whatever this is, that's my guess. If they make this race an up and down referendum on Kamala's race, they will lose. LaCivita and Wiles likely know that, but they can't necessarily control their fellow party members and media organs either

This.... his endorsement helped, but the reality is that none of them wanted anything to do with challenging her because the risks would have far exceeded any reward. It's a big reason why there was never a real challenge to Biden once he decleared reelection.... the risk reward math just didn't add up.
