Yeah, that's what I was thinking. A real crazy idea was Gibbs going down at the goal line, 1st and goal. Milk the clock and kick a FG. 9 point lead with 1 1/2 minutes left for SF. But...no...score a TD

Agreed. But most people would agree injuries cost us a chance at a Super Bowl. Sometimes it's just an excuse but this time it's a real fact.

Well, there's some common sense involved. Your defense has problems so you don't want to expose them and play from behind. If a team has a top defense, I could see it.

This defer strategy only started a few years ago. Teams used to always take the ball. Some old ways are better....

Deferring didn't work, SF gets the ball at the end of the 2nd quarter. Put that into the books as another BIG fail.

Agreed. Practice squad guys, raiding other teams practice squads and waiver pickups makes it hard to field a good defense.

Yeah, can't expose this defense. Limit the touches by the opponent, control the clock.

Practice squad defense is actually going into the playoffs worse than last year. It's too bad, fans had high hopes. But no matter what, it's been a fun and historic season.
