  1. I have no faith in Meadows offensively, I wouldn't be shocked if we're back to Javy in CF by opening day.
  2. If this remains true near the deadline it would seem that a RH bat would be one of the easier things to acquire.
  3. The Lolich tribute that just aired during the Red Wings game was great.
  4. Not ashamed to say I cried a bit today. '67 was my start as a fan but those Tigers were my heroes. Hang on Willie!!
  5. Hmmmmmm.........
  6. I like the 2nd one best because of the magic ball.
  7. Obvious you're not a bowler, any bowler would know that room would look better with a big bearskin rug.
  8. We'll see, but I respectfully disagree. We have too many options to settle for disaster. Keith, Vierling, McKinstry, Baez, McGonigle, Lee, even Sweeney or Jung might figure out how to hit. Somewhere in that pile of potential there's at least an average season for Hinch to squeeze out.
  9. Glad to see the Reds spend that $$ and not the Tigers. Once the Tigers win on Weds and use the savings to sign Valdez the mood around here should improve.
  10. Getting the right fit is/was critical. I used to drive over an hour to GLC in Flint to buy and have my balls drilled. I don't think they're even around anymore.
  11. We went to Toledo a couple of times and bowled the Shammy Burt 40 frame game, I have recollection of what the name of the lanes was. Our other yearly event in Ohio was the 3rd week of March 50-60 guys from my hometown would go down and bowl the Hoinke Classic at Western Lanes in Cincinnati. You could win some serious $$ there since the tourney ran for a year at a time. And going back to your averages post, we loved having our rough averages from the old house we bowled at when it came time for tournament handicapping.
  12. We need someone like that Ford lad to man 3rd base for us this year. "Six Caesars made the all-league team - Mike Gouin (.561 BA, 35 HRs, 124 RBIs), Ron Ford (.607, 85 HRs, 184 RBIs, 150 runs scored), Mike Nye (.659, 36 HRs, 104 RBIs), Bert Smith (.512, 53 HRs, 122 RBIs), Tony Mazza (23-6 pitching record) and Doug Gerdes (.599, 60 HRs, 124 RBIs). Caesars Jim Mitchell (.603, 37 HRs, 77 RBIs), Al Gibson (.527, 26 HRs, 60 RBIs) and Tex Collins (.569, 61 HRs, 119 RBIs) had excellent seasons in support." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Caesars
  13. A spare in frame 1 followed by striking out is also a 290.
  14. Reading about these softball teams was the 1st time I heard of Mike Illitch.
  15. There's a curling club up here in Lewiston. You can rent ice time and they'll teach people how to curl. https://www.lewistoncurlingclub.com/
  16. I lived in Lakeland from 9/82-3/84 so got to see a couple good years down there. Got home just in time for a magical summer, went to over 30 games that year. I was working around Metro Pwy and 94 so a quick zip down the freeway.
  17. Used to frequent a bar in Auburn Hills (the Martin's Nest) that was part of a shuffleboard league. The only bar I ever went to that had actual shuffleboard sharps.
  18. Absolutely. He was a true legend. 40 years ago I used to bowl 3 leagues a week and weekend tournaments. Earl Anthony and **** Weber Sr were my heroes.
  19. Not surprising, he was EARL ANTHONY after all.
  20. No argument, I was pointing it out because you left it off your "Now it is" list and including it gave a more complete picture of their North American minor league system.
  21. Petzold hasn't loved me since I suggested he should do us all a favor and schedule a trip to Fiji for World Series week.
  22. Agree, and to have ditched them early just because they were "avila guys" would have been malpractice.
  23. You must love reading Petzold.
  24. There's also a Rookie league team in Lakeland that would have essentially replaced CT/Oneonta.
