  1. Could be true but I'm not sure he has the standing in the room to be the leader of the pack....
  2. He doesn't come off to me as intense as Gibby. I knew Gibby a bit at MSU and he was INTENSE. Clark seems to be more of keep things loose but "let's go win" guy. I've followed him on twitter and watched/listened to his workouts that he posts. Under the flash there's a pretty solid, intelligent, high effort person. It just strikes me that he's the kind of leader this team needs. The spotlight falls on him, doesn't faze him and the others fall in line and follow him....I'm thinking we may see sooner than later.
  3. Long story but one that still makes me emotional. My lifelong best friend died from cancer in May of 24. We met in kindergarten, went to all 13 years of school together, played sports together, roomed together at MSU, and shared a house a couple times in our early 20s until marriage etc. How does this relate to your post? One of my most vivid memories with him was an Eli Zaret/George Kell moment. I'm pretty sure it was on the Morning Crew show either the morning after they hit 35-5 or a few days before they did. He was a dairy farmer and some mornings I'd get up and go visit him in the feed room as he ran the silage unloader. George came on with Eli and started with "It's magical Eli, just magical" with his Arkansas twang it was unforgettable. For the rest of our lives he and I would use that phrase to describe things, sometimes seriously, sometimes sarcastically. Now and then that phrase comes to mind and I think of my buddy......
  4. One thing I like about Clark is that he strikes me as a vocal, rah, rah type. That might be the kind of thing this team needs. None of the leaders on this current team seem to be that type.
  5. I think Harris will instead use a promotion or two to shake things up. Perez? Clark? Both?
  6. Every time I see Lakeland come up in the spring I think of HueyTaxi
  7. People get old and soft. At least my kids accuse me of that. e.g:how I treat my grandchildren compared to how I treated them.
  8. I'll bet Gores makes a deal to join the Tigers and Wings. It just makes too much sense. Share equipment, talent, fans, marketing...
  9. My guess is yes. Based on: Ernie - Blaha - Scully - Michaels - Raftery - Vitale - etc the great ones seem to go forever. It's a pretty sweet gig and you have an offseason to relax and recreate.
  10. 67. In announcer years that's like 45.
  11. I think the Tigers are preparing for this by using Dickerson on television while breaking in his replacement. Will make for a pretty smooth transition if Benetti leaves.
  12. Was announced during the game and addressed in the post game interviews. Hip discomfort. I'd rather he wait until it warms up some more to pitch.

  14. Keith is safe if he stays on the base.
  15. Geee Whiz......Dirks/Benetti got interuppted by the game.
  16. Can't really say why but Inge was one of my least favorite Tigers of all time. Just never warmed up to him.
  17. I'd play anyone that owned that glove at DH too.
  18. Every time I see this I note how quickly he's throwing the ball in.
  19. Probably. Big ballparks and there were some outfielders that had cannons. Willie Mays - Roberto Clemente - Al Kaline - Mickey Mantle - Yaz - Parker - Geronimo - Winfield - Dwight Evans.
  20. The time draws near when a Carp for Wenceel swap might make some sense. Let him go work some things out.
  21. And a beautiful throw into 2nd for Clark. https://x.com/tigersMLreport/status/2039405219507736892?s=20
  22. I'd like to see JV used in a throwback to the bulk innings days. Open with Anderson or DeJesus then bring in JV for 3-4 innings.
  23. I continue to believe that Greene will eventually be the centerpiece of a big deal.
  24. If Meadows starts hitting like late '24 it might be delayed a bit or they'll bring him up and play him in RF.
