  1. I think you're on to something, because the likelihood is that afterwards, they will merely move on to the next democracy-threatening grift.
  2. They have to fold because otherwise, they might well be murdered by a MAGA voter.
  3. Translation: I never dreamed the Deep State would actually bust me.
  4. It won't mean a thing until Trump admits it.
  5. If you like the Pistons, then I hope you live in town.
  6. Looks like the kind of law of convenience where they won't actively monitor roads for scofflaws, but rather will either go after someone on hearsay—which seems pretty likely—or else layer this on top of other charges they bring.
  7. She's Trumpy-cute enough that he might waffle on that.
  8. He had a lot of company about Iran even before he polluted the scene—people whose motivations are honest and therefore manipulable.
  9. Jesus, we totally had those guys in a box and Trump let them out.
  10. God bless the United Shakes.
  11. I think it might be down to a 75% chance.
  12. Both those guys made millions and millions in the game.
  13. I meant down side for us, the people who depend on democratic institutions and constitutional freedoms. Lack of regulation as a feature works great for oligarchs in putatively enemy countries.
  14. I've been cycling through nine-month CDs since those have been the best combination of high rate and short term flexibility. As they have been maturing and rates have stayed elevated, I've been renewing. Once they start maturing with rates starting to drop, I may start rolling over into longer term CDs at that point to lock in higher rates. I've already gotten burned (or maybe more like singed) on a 5-year CD I got in at 4% earlier in the year. Fortunately my entire retirement doesn't depend on that, but that's when I started cycling through nine-monthers.
  15. I think the overtraining might have been worsened in the past decade or so by the accelerated trend toward seeking ever-greater velocity coupled with movement, driven by the need to generate swing-and-miss in order to avoid the home run at all costs.
  16. The down side of the unregulated free market.
  17. They are far less concerned with our kids than they are with their own legal liability.
  18. The Trump people basically confirmed for us on January 21, 2017, when the Dancing with the Stars press scretary straight up lied about the size of the inauguration crowd, that they were basically going to demand that we always believe them over our lying eyes and fake news documentation.
  19. On a drive my wife and I took this past weekend to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and then through back roads from Mount Airy, NC to Lexington, KY, we saw probably a dozen or so Trump flags et al, as well as three or four Confederate flags and at least one municipal Confederate war memorial.
  20. I will be hovering around long term CDs at that point
  21. To Ob’s point, disinformation (as opposed to misinformation, that’s my distinction) is so rife that could we even believe the results of such an investigation?
  22. And if there are death threats against Republican spouses, then newsflash, they married into it. How’s that for victim blaming?
  23. What was this? It’s come up blank for me on multiple browsers.
  24. Welcome in from the cold.
  25. Which is why anyone who votes for him would vote for him, since they don’t want him to work with the other party. Their goal is to destroy government from within and steal all the money on the way out.
