    Same, which is why I wouldn't offer him an extension. If he stays we have a solid lefty starter for four more years, and if he opts out we have money to play with.

    Not only that, but it's entirely possible that Harris did have a Plan B, and that team was either spooked by E-Rod pulling out of the Dodgers trade at the last minute or knew they had more leverage and changed their offers hoping Harris would feel pressured to "at least get something", ala Avila.

    So you're positive that the story that Harris had the understanding that E-Rod would accept a trade to LA, then changed his mind when DET and LA agreed on a deal is a false? You're sure of this?

    Everyone seems to be assuming that E-Rod hasn't already told Harris that he doesn't intend to exercise his opt-out clause. I'm not assuming that he has done that, just putting the possibility out there. None of us know anything.
