  1. Torres and Jones both open with singles.
  2. Bryce Harper grounds into a double play, Nice way to get the pitch count back to something ordinary
  3. Nice three pitch K to take out Turner to open the bottom of the third
  4. Vierling is pretty underwhelming since he’s come back.
  5. Sanchez is gonna be around a long time if we can’t get an eight or nine pitch at bat out of him a couple times
  6. Getting out of the bottom of the second by only allowing one run is a victory of sorts.
  7. Second and third and no outs for Philadelphia. This is getting dicey.
  8. Riley strikes out, thinking he’s at the driving range
  9. Morton gets out of the first only giving up a double to Harper.
  10. And Sanchez didn’t make the All-Star game
  11. Sanchez mows our boys down in the first inning
  12. ESPN finally showing the real game although it’s starting late for some reason
  13. They’re still showing the Little League game on ESPN and on ESPN2 it’s supposed to be the Statcast version
  14. They’re actually showing a pregame on ESPN2
  15. Just as a note of interest, the Chicago White Sox are 10–4 since the All-Star break, winning series against the Pirates, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, and the Angels.
  16. Just to be safe because it’s so often an issue I checked all the driveway cams I could find in Philadelphia and I can safely say it’s not raining.

  18. Sounds to me like the Yankees are due for a rebound.
  19. Reading all of you discussing local Detroit media makes me feel kind of left out. I have very little knowledge of it. Having never lived in Detroit, and with the Tigers always being an exotic “fix“ obtained from a distance like Jasmine from the Orient, I wonder if my affection for the team would have been dulled by the ubiquity of it all if I’d lived in Detroit. Where I live in Boise Idaho everybody wears Boise State Bronco gear, especially on Saturdays in the fall, and though the team once meant a lot to me, even back then I would kinda roll my eyes and mockingly think “wow that’s really being edgy and unique” when each Saturday rolled around and Bronco flags were flapping from everybody’s pick up truck. For me, the Tigers have always been something unique, not something commonly accessible. Where I’ve lived for the last 38 years the Tigers are my secret pleasure, my secret vice. I might as well be a goth teen wearing all black in the 102° heat with piercings all over me. Being a Tigers fan out here makes me unique, and when I do meet people from Detroit out here we are able to share a bond that seems more valuable because of its rarity. And sharing this affection with the rest of you who grew up in Michigan only affirms this connection.
  20. I tuned back into watch the bottom of the ninth of the Speedway Classic and De la Cruz came up with two on and no out and I was really looking forward to something dramatic but he struck out in the Reds lost the game. What an exciting player he is and only 23 years old wow.
  21. I wish this were a normal game with a normal start time instead of a marquee Sunday night ESPN game. Waiting another four hours bugs me.
  22. I didn’t realize it was that bad. He’s starting to feel all or nothing.
  23. I just noticed that in the 4th the St. Paul Twins are defeating the Cleveland Guardians. For me this kind of scoreboard watching is more interesting than the race thing.
  24. Getting closer to lightning while standing on a metal grating is a great idea.
