  1. I watched the whole thing and it was pretty good.
  2. Ignore the hype, keep your head down, and don't look back. Something might be gaining on you.
  3. Wow! You nailed it. That is realistic and prescient. Only someone who has been around the block with this team a lot could put that together so succinctly. You have earned your stripes today.
  4. Yeah, I like that kind of stuff too. Although I’ll admit, I really partial to having Dan on TV.
  5. I just tried to buy a movie on Apple TV on my actual TV and they won’t let me do it. I don’t know if that’s because I’m going through the firestick or what. But instead of getting on my “device” I simply went to Amazon and bought bought the movie there with no trouble. Apple TV seems to make things harder than other people.
  6. If the Tigers win each of the next four series and I’m allowing them to merely win, not sweep the White Sox in the last series of the season, they will be 85–77 which would be pretty good.
  7. Pick the stick is an excuse to fill up time between commercials when you have nothing better to say. Friday’s game with the Orioles will be on Apple TV. I’ve heard people piss and moan about Apple TV but I’m surprised at how much they know about the Tigers when I’ve watched games there this season.
  8. Twins leading 4–2 after six.
  9. Riley again!
  10. Colt Keith singles on a line drive to left fielder Colton Cowser. Matt Vierling scores.
  11. I missed Riley’s home run while I was complaining.
  12. I’m getting blacked out. I’m trying to catch this game on my phone before I get home, but I’m operating off a 5G plus signal from AT&T and that signal is telling MLB that the entity with which it is associated is in either Baltimore or Detroit. it will let me watch any other game except this one. Usually, I only get blacked out when I am within the viewing territory of the Seattle Mariners.
  13. When I look at this lineup, I still find myself saying “who?” But through some strange alchemy they are playing meaningful games in September. I look back on the players we once heralded then forgot about such as The Van Man for instance, and then the teams that ended up disappointing that were full of All Stars, Cy Young winners, and future Hall of Famers. But I find this team’s season so gratifying I just want to say “thank you” in a manner that completely surprises me.
  14. I guess (and I truly am guessing out of thin air air here) they could do that, but given how the new guys appear to be flourishing — for now at least — I have some doubts about ownership pulling the trigger on something like that that; it doesn’t seem to be in their DNA, especially given how prone to injury pitchers are, and that the Ilitch family might possibly like to be proven mostly right about their strategy of building from within. It’s the kind of thing a top-tier monied team would do, but I don’t think they see this team that way. I’ve become kind of cynical about this ownership group. No matter what, the off-season will be interesting.
  15. A great and memorable quote from the Repo Man movie - Kevin: “There's [blank] room to move as a fry cook. I could be manager in two years. King. God!” I jest, but I do agree with you.
  16. Tomorrow it’s Montero for us and Cade Povich for the Orioles. Who da’ baby daddy?
  17. Well, we didn’t get the air rifle for Christmas, but neither did we shoot out our eye, nor remain scoreless for 17 innings. The glass is half full.
  18. Colt Keith singles
  19. Yes, yes yes it begins Parker homer.
  20. OK, it’s time to win this game in the dramatic walk off fashion that we have gotten used to. It needs to be the equivalent of the kid in Christmas Story getting the Red Ryder range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time and NOT shooting our eye out.
  21. Leaving Maeda in with the hope of winning tomorrow. Not every hill is worth dying on. Going 2-1 against a good team like Baltimore would be success.
  22. It’s a tossup about whether I’m going to keep watching this game or watch a movie on Amazon, NEPTUNE FROST, a sci-fi musical about post-genocidal Rwanda.
