Sweden is now outshooting Italy 28-4 one minute into the 2nd period but the score is 2-2!

Crazy that this game is 2-2 right now.

 

buddha is going to hate this but I think Elias Petterson looks pretty good so far 😈

Should have had a goal in the first but the refs let a pretty egregious hook go imo

EP just stopped on a shorthanded breakaway.

Wow that line was buzzing for the Swedes, EP screening in front on the goal.  Italy is just worn down at this point.

Darn, just realized there was a watch party at Vancouver’s Italian Cultural Centre not too far from me, put on by the family of Petan. Could have been fun.

Turns out it was even better But the only video I can find is on Facebook. Each goalie first faced a breakaway, took a shot full length of the ice, shot at a mini net near the blue line, then finally made their run at the hardest shot.

he's playing against the equivalent of a Q league team, he better look good.

Busy day today on Olympic ice.  
 

The Swiss have a sneaky good team and dominated the French this morning 4-0.

10:30 we get our first look at the Silver medal favorites against a formidable Czech team.  After yesterday’s results anything can happen.  

3:10 we get our first look at Team USA against Latvia.  They have 2 NHL goalies but this should be a boat race from start to finish.   We will see if Larkin can pick up where he left off at 4 Nations. 

Seider gets his first action at the same time for the Germans against the Danes.   This one will be similar to 1940.

Nice pass by Marner to Stone for a 2-0 Canada lead six minutes into the 2nd. Team Canada looking pretty good so far, not sure how good Czechia is though.

That was beauty team effort, scored by Bo Horvat. 3-0 Team Canada.

Larkin a little too casual on an empty net and misses it!  US is buzzing

Not one but two disallowed goals. US-Latvia still tied 1-1, 8 minutes left in 1st.

Horrendous.  1st goal is probably offside but no view that shows it.   2nd was one of the worst interference call that you will ever see.
