if we don't get another wing for the top line...I think I would rather see Copp working with Raymond and Larkin.  he provides a touch more physicality than Kasper...Kasper has more skill and he works really well between Cat and Kane.  Ideally...

I think if I were the coach and absent the info given in camp/preseason about who is playing well and gelling together, I think this is what I would try:

Mazur - Larkin - Raymond

DeBrincat - Kasper - Kane

JVR - Danielson - Appleton

Rasmussen/Soderblom - Copp - Compher/Tralmaks

I'm a bit wary Copp is going to be fully ready to go to start the season though, and Mazur + Danielson will probably start in Grand Rapids.  It would be my actual preference for one of MBN or Lombardi having an unreal camp to steal that first line LW spot.

I would be shocked if Mazur is in the  top six this year

the wings were 17-5-1 when kasper was playing mostly left wing on the top line and copp was centering line two.

not sure why we all of a sudden want copp on the 4th line.  i would prefer copp on line one as left wing before i'd put him on line 4.

I'm wary of Copp being 100% to start the season which is why I would hypothetically stick him on line 4 to start.  I also don't think Copp has enough scoring chops to play first line winger, ideally he is my 3C in my mind but I want our young centers playing center personally.

if the wings had a top line winger he would be a great 3c.  in your hypothetical, theyre giving mazur a shot at LW1, and if that panned out the way kasper panned out, copp would be great at 3c.  like you said, ideally that's where he SHOULD be on a playoff team.

in your hypo, i'd have danielson on the wing before i moved copp to 4C.  4C would be a mix and match with compher if he continues to suck and rasmussen.

i was as down as anyone on copp at the beginning of the year, but he turned it around before he got hurt.  his resurgence and kasper's emergence started their run, and his injury started their slide last year.
