The Resistance Thread

I came across something that I had to share here, but it doesn’t fit comfortably into any of the existing threads. It’s not about the Trump Presidency per se, although it’s certainly related (as is just about everything now). It’s not about Aisle Lunatic. It’s not about Media Melting Down, or Doing the Needful, or Congress or SCOTUS or Gun Legislation or anything as specific as those topics. And it’s not Politics Schmalitics in general, because some items simply transcend mundane differences of opinion. 

Really, it’s about something bigger, meaning the bigger picture. It’s about pushing back on the whole thing. The rhetoric, the ideas, the philosophy—that whole movement.

It’s about resistance.

So maybe that’s what we need a thread about, as a catch-all for the things that come up that aren’t about just positioning one side or the other to win elections in even-numbered years. That’s politics. This is something bigger.

This is the Resistance Thread. Yes, I know it seems one-sided, but the other side is certainly free to start a “We ❤️ Trump!” thread if they want. And besides, they can also use this thread if the Democratic Party survives and ever takes power in Washington again.

And if you yourself don’t need a food pantry, consider volunteering for one. Pack food, deliver food, distribute food, whatever. Inquiries have more than doubled just in the last couple of months. People know it’s coming.
