I would call it "Premature Ejaculation". And the WHINGING over every single free agent that we did NOT sign... "Penus Envy." OVERWROUGHT Penus Envy. It's ONLY the 4th freaking day of free agency. I agree with you 100%. Holmes is of course being slow, methodical, budget-conscious, and selecting ONLY those guys that fit the Lions personality AND aren't outrageously over-priced. We still have: A) The REST of this Free Agency. B) The Draft. C) The SECOND wave of free agency in which a ton of expensive veterans will be dropped by teams AFTER the draft. Just too damn much WHINGING going on right now... YeeGADS!!! (changing the spelling allows my intentions to be posted even if misspelled...) Edited 1 hour ago by 1984Echoes Quote

Tyliek was more of a rotational guy which is fine for a 1st season so we'll see on him, they traded an extra 3rd rounder for a #3 WR who I like but for a team that was going to lose guys due to cap restraints wasting an extra 3rd on a luxury pick looks like a mistake IMO. The rest of the guys are projects which is fine for lower round guys, Frazier could turn out to be something. There's some guys with upside there, I'm a big Teslaa fan, but the returns are modest thus far one season in which is all we can really judge now. Time will tell... They picked late in the draft and ended up with three starters in their rookie years. If they got a starter in Teslaa with a late 3rd and two picks after the 3rd round that is a steal. If any of the other picks end up helping at all, that's a bonus. Quote

But I'm interested in keeping all options open just in case Holmes/DC "discover" a couple different guys for the outside. Just thinking "outside" the box for a minute... It was at least partially forced by injury but I hope they don’t do the same to McCreary. Quote

1984Echoes Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago PS: A partial list of still available free agents that Brett Whiteside (at Pride of Detroit) thinks are perfect (bargain) fits for the Lions (I'm listing the ones (out of 9) that I most agree with) Detroit Lions 2026 free agency targets: 9 overlooked players to boost the roster: (He listed Roger McCreary... we just signed him). Outside CB: Rasul Douglas. 6' 2" and physical man corner. Yep. Free Safety: Andre Cisco. "Kerby Joseph-lite". Yep. DT: Sebastian Joseph-Day: High-level run-stuffer with a little bit of pass-rush juice that can absorb 500 DT snaps or so for the year... Yep. DE: Listed several. But I like Cam Jordan the best. Can be the starter until Kelvin Faulk or Zion Young can get up to speed. Then can be the depth/ rotational DE that this roster needs. If it's Faulk that's drafted... I would also (at least I hope Holmes would...) look for a 4th/5th/6th round "speed-rusher" type. He's found them before. Between Hutch, Cam Jordan, Faulk or Zion, Hassanein and a speed rusher.... I would hope it's enough depth (hoping for health this year... yeesh!!!) to get us through the season. Quote
