4hzglory Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago So according to the Athletic, Platinum Equity is one 4 groups in the running to buy the San Diego Padres and estimates are that bidding could top $3.5 billion. Also in the article, it stated that Platinum Equity bought a 27% state in the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 - I was unaware of that too. With the Pistons valued in the $3.65-4.17 billion range, that's a lot of assets in sports franchises- but also quite the return on investment. Quote
Deleterious Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Platinum Equity no longer owns any part of the Pistons. The original sale had Gores buying part of the team and PE buying a part. But a few years later Gores bought out PE and now owns 100% of the team privately. Quote
