Nothing to do with political or religious affiliations. 3 Quote

Nobody is cutting him for his comments. Quote

Deleterious Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 This is why the new draft rules were such a joke. Tanking isn't nearly the problem make it out to be. Star players not playing is a much bigger problem. How many times this year did Detroit have a game against a team not tanking, but somehow their star player was in street clothes for some dumb minor injury? That needed to be addressed long before tanking, and it wasn't. 2 Quote

For the same reason people are wondering why Duren won't accept 35M instead of 40M. They want every dollar they can get even when their contracts pay them more per year than most people see in 10 lifetimes. This is the basis of the ideas around "rewarding winning" rather than the "punishing losing" plan they went with. But it goes beyond the players. I'd bet that in most cases it isn't the players making the decision not to play, it's the organization asking them to sit out. And again, rewarding winning is the way to go here. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 Not sure if they have the cap space. But still thinking giving #8 back to NO for Murphy makes a lot of sense. Quote
NorthWoods Posted June 16 Posted June 16 https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-offseason-bold-predictions-2026/ The Pistons trade for Trey Murphy III The Pistons decided against making any big moves last season, which, in retrospect, looks like a mistake. They were the No. 1 seed in the East, but needed to complete a 3-1 comeback to get past the Orlando Magic in the first round, then blew a 2-0 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers and lost Game 7 of that series at home. They are almost certainly going to shake things up this offseason, so suggesting a Pistons trade is admittedly not a bold prediction, but I'll try to predict the exact target: Trey Murphy III. Quote
Deleterious Posted June 18 Author Posted June 18 Same issue as Duren. Almost nobody has any cap space to pay him. Why on earth would Washington give him $50 million per without any other competition? 1 Quote

I'd guess the opposite is true, there are zero teams with max interest. 2 Quote

You can make a good argument Young would have been better off picking up his option and trying to rehabilitate his reputation this year. Then try to sign a big deal next summer. 1 Quote
GalagaGuy Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Do we really need this much coverage of the Knicks parade from every national news network? Had San Antonio won, I guarantee you it wouldn't be getting this kind of attention. 1 Quote

When I saw the $48M player option the 1st thought that came to mind was - I wonder if his best offer might be 3/$48M? Who doesn't need an undersized, defensive liability, ball dominant guard whose 3pt pct has declined the last 3 full seasons he's played? He does bring a level of **** stirring that will become more adorable as he enters his decline phase. Quote

Deleterious Posted June 19 Author Posted June 19 The Lakers beat writer for The Athletic is reporting that Brooklyn will offer Reaves a 4 year max offer sheet. That is an overpay but it's what you have to do in restricted free agency. It's possible he comes to an agreement with the Lakers before the offer is ever made by Brooklyn. Quote
