AlaskanTigersFan Posted August 14 Posted August 14 https://www.mlb.com/news/top-100-prospects-updated-in-season-rankings-2026?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage Tigers currently have the #5 system overall. Cameron Flukey comes in at 6th in the organization. All three of the players received in the Skubal trade rank in the top 10 of the Tigers with Hope (#2), Ryan (#4) and Brady Smith (#10). All will move up one spot once Max Clark graduates from rookie status. Also cool to note, Ben Jacobs rates ahead of Kash Mayfield at #7 and #8 respectively. The Tigers 2nd round pick Tyson LeBlanc debuts all the way at 17. We got some depth now finally...... 2 Quote

Except Clark is still on the list, per rule, but actually not so our rankings will fall quite a bit once he is no longer eligible. But it's still positive news. Quote

1984Echoes Posted Friday at 05:19 PM Posted Friday at 05:19 PM If they make enough progress. But I don't see it this year. I see next year's mid-season having those three as possibilities entering the top 100 after working through whatever adjustments the Tigers work them through this year. I mean we drafted Ben so he's been in our system just over a year... but he's currently struggling at the higher (High-A in GR) level with a 4.78 ERA, nearly 5 BB's/ 9 and a 1.32 WHIP. So he still has to make some progress on that, IMO, to be considered top 100 I think. I'll even toss in Evan Dempsey as a dark horse candidate as his stuff could surge after giving up 2-way play. Maybe it doesn't move much... but if his velocity ticks up significantly next year, not impossible, he may jump further than we're thinking. Especially his 3K spin slider and curveball... I'm eager to see just how much his velocity DOES tick up next year, as his control is top-notch already... Not certain about his command but I believe he fills up the strike zone with most of his pitches... Quote

His biggest issue right now is walks - from what it sounds he was really squeezed in his last outing - still was scoreless with high k's. 2 Quote

A guy like Max Anderson would have been top 5 in pretty much any list of Tigers top prospects from the 80s-early 2020s. So much more depth in the system. 1 1 Quote
