  1. I don't wanna complain too much... we're winning after all. But the same problems still exist. Red Zone issues and 3rd period issues.
  2. That's a lame call imho. I mean, I'll take it, but that didn't seem like and illegal hit at all.
  3. The Saints on defense look like their so worried about Dobbs scrambling that the don't rush hard... just trying to contain. But: 1. That's giving him all day to pass 2. When he does scramble their not containing him.
  4. Saints lines look like trash right now.
  5. Are the Vikings actually good with Dobbs or are the Saints just bad?
  6. How good is Jamo at carrying the ball on 2nd and long plays?
  7. Just came across this on eBay... figured the Lions faithful just HAD to see it as I know one of you will certainly scoop this treasure up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175930765552?hash=item28f64a70f0
  8. We saw some vintage D'Andre Swift at the end there too... instead of barreling ahead for 3-4 yards he tried to break outside and ended up with zero yards. After a couple of BIG games early in the season (175 yards, 130 yards) his rushing numbers have really fallen off. Wk 4: 56 / 5: 70 / 6: 18 / 7: 62 / 8: 57 / 9: 43 After three games he was averaging 6.84 ypc. Now he's down to 4.6 ypc. (Gibbs, btw, is at 5.2 ypc.)
  9. I'm okay with the penalty, not the fine. The penalty needs to be assessed on a quick basis from what it looks like on the field. You can't pause the game and go to replay just because a players complains he was tripped. But the fine is a different story. The league absolutely can watch the replays, can take into consideration the player, can view exactly what happened and then make the correct call. This ain't it.
  10. I honestly think this is a big point that's being overlooked. I see DPJ as probably the new return man.
  11. I totally agree on the part in Bold. I totally disagree on the part in italics. Obviously we're speculating but I don't get the vibe that he necessarily thinks he's smarter than everyone else. That mentality (at least to me) is reactionary: "Oh, everyone things we should do A? Well, I'm going to do B!" where as I get the feeling that Holmes just makes his decision based on what he thinks and doesn't care if everyone else like it's or not. Now, you could argue that if everyone else is saying: "Don't go in the water, there's a hungry alligator there" then maybe you should at least investigate a bit before going swimming, but I don't see Holmes has deliberately going against the grain to show how smart he is.
  12. I think that's a valid point. Obviously it's speculation but *IF* Young is known for this, I think that would be something the coaching staff wants to avoid. Remember Dan Campbell's quote about Jamo coming back and Campbell said something to the effect that he wants to see that Jamo know what he's supposed to do and that he's where he's supposed to be... something like that.
  13. Or maybe Purple and Gold to honor the Spartans?
  14. What about Lions red?
  15. Yeah, I was a little skeptical of them paired with the all grey unis, but I ended up really liking them. And yes, it is a retro logo. It was used during the 60s. https://www.sportslogos.net/logos/list_by_team/170/Detroit_Lions/
  16. It is a head scratcher. As @MIguy correctly points out, we don't have all the details. But it sure seems odd based on what details we do have. It's possible that the Lions brain trust thinks Young is a potential locker room liability. It's possible that that something weird happened with the Commander just agreeing to a 3rd round this time without even talking to other teams (seems unlikely). I dunno... I'm disappointed I guess more than angry. I just don't understanding this. I feel the same way after the Erod non-trade this summer.
  17. Well... yeah kinda. It's a message board, not a court of law where things need to vetted. Obviously there's always a caveat in these sort of statements pending further developments. But dang... I would have done that trade all day long!
  18. Shhhh.... let me live in my world where all 2nd round picks are failures.
  19. I have a Bears fan co-worker (he's native from Chicago). He mentioned that the scuttlebutt is that the Bears are looking trying to acquire players on the last year of their deal and use the remainder of this season to sign them to longer term deal because they have a lot of cap space going into 2024. I mean, yeah, this gives them a certain period of time to exclusively negotiate. But if, as a bad team, you were going to throw enough money at the player to lure them to Chicago anyway, why not do that in the off season? Why give up draft capital to do it now?
  20. I don't know if I would have done that deal... I guess it depends on if Sweat seemed interested in an extension. I'd hate to pick up a high(ish) pick for half a season. On the other hand if it was a 2nd round pick... we know our history of those.
  21. How about our 2nd round pick for the next 5 years? I mean, it's not like we're doing anything with them, right?
  22. Bears trade a 2nd for a half-a-season rental on Montez Sweat‽‽ I don't understand that move. Do they think this move will give them a shot at the playoffs? Or is this hoping they'll be able to resign Sweat before he hit free agency? https://www.profootballrumors.com/2023/10/bears-to-acquire-de-montez-sweat-from-commanders
