  1. Wout Van Aert is cleaning up.
  2. Thanks! He's 36 now, still got a bit of juice left in the tank for a hilly course.
  3. Imagine the razzing you would get from your teammates if he struck you out. Like the nun in the wheelchair striking out Javier Baez.
  4. And I know that "pitching wins" is a horsecrap statistic, except for that one Steve Carlton year, but "20 game winner" would look good on Tarik Skubal.
  5. If you called 85 wins at the start of the year I like your chances.
  6. Tigers win. Yawn.
  7. Come on Foley don't f this up
  8. Holy sh*t there's Mickey Moniak!! Still in the major leagues.
  9. The back of that baseball card tells me that he was a better hitter than I remember. He was a good third baseman and all around player, in an era when Brooks Robinson set the standard of excellence at a pretty high level.
  10. .500 this late in August, I love it. And Madden's mom is hot? That's important.
  11. Here's Ibanez to face a lefty
  12. After 2 games at Cheeze Dix Park my tablet smells like urine.
  13. Ohhhh that's tough for Malloy, he did so many good things but he hasn't given them a reason to trust him anywhere on the field. Hate to give up the RH bat though.
  14. Yeah that's what we do here, who the f does he think he is?
  15. You're right! I forgot that it was starting today, thanks.
  16. Yeah Baddoo is going to stick around the peripheries of MLB for years and make some pretty decent money. He is a LHB with power and speed, and teams with hubris will think that they can fix his hit tool. You know, the way that the Braves' video guys fixed Robbie Grossman in 2 days. Good luck to him, he seems like a nice kid, I hope he does well.
  17. I like this Liranzo kid.
  18. I like Malloy as the RH bat in the middle of the order, I feel like an OPS of over .800 is almost a guarantee. I really, really wanted him to play third, that isn't going to happen, and even playing left seems like a challenge. My problem is that if a guy is going to be a full time DH I want the OPS to be .900 plus, not .800 plus, to justify the absence of any defensive value, and to justify clogging up that spot so that it can't be used as a partial rest day for other players. Has he ever played first base?
  19. I don't mind Carpenter in the outfield, he's made some nice throws from right. If Meadows can hit enough to play center, and Greene is in one of the corners, I'd like to see guys like Carpenter and Malloy put on a glove and get out there and improve, especially Malloy, in a corner.
  20. Well that there is the Triple Crown. Why not just give him the Cy now, why are they stalling? Note - I think that when Skenes has enough innings to qualify he is going to have a half decent ERA
  21. I am pleasantly surprised by Captain Bligh
  22. I agree, Baez is not Cabrera. The last 2 years of Cabrera's contract were so painful for us to watch, but because of his status in the game there was never the slightest chance that the Tigers would do anything except let him play it out. Baez is different. The team owes him nothing, quite the opposite. There is no reason to allow him to keep playing. Give him the rest of his money and wish him good luck, and cut him. PS I was very happy when the Tigers signed him
  23. Alejandro Kirk keeps himself in pretty nice shape. But yes, Josh is the "before" picture for any fitness program.
  24. Why, when I was their age, we'd streak across the field and then steal a policeman hat.
  25. And I feel ashamed.
