  1. I would have kept Rose out of the Hall just for his haircut. It reminds me of something else for which I have always wanted to hear an explanation...the are 1.8 million Americans in prison, but Ken Burns' barber is not among them.
  2. I'm thinking 12-to-1 against this lawsuit succeeding.
  3. Brieske I apologize for giving up on you 3 years ago.
  4. Rob, your wife and your son are pure magic. You are so blessed.
  5. Hey McCosky, just f off and write articles about Harold and Willi and Grossman.
  6. This is all so cool.
  7. Noted, and he had a nice moment with Jason Bennetti
  8. Those good teams from the previous decade, they were fun to watch especially JD and Miggy, but I never really got emotionally invested in them. It was different from 68 and 84, the cores of those teams were guys who had played in the Tigers' minor league system. This team feels more like 68 and 84, so many of the key players spent time at Erie and Toledo. I guess there is one key difference, the 68 and 84 teams had homegrown players who were already big stars, and on this team you would say "not yet but fingers crossed for a few of them".
  9. I miss Stan Papi...not.
  10. Et voila!
  11. I am always grateful that I was never a teenaged girl whose surname was Hoover.
  12. This is a lot of fun.
  13. Scoreboard watching on September 20!
  14. That is what's fun...go and look it up eventually, but test our collective memory first.
  15. 1 run leads are not comfortable.
  16. That reminds me of a question on the old forum about 10 years ago...if you were starting a new team and could choose one player to build around, who would that be? Most people chose Trout, the sensible choice at the time. I took Lindor and was, quite rightly, buried in cow manure by my colleagues, which was then soaked with gasoline and set on fire. The answer today is Bobby Witt, isn't it?
  17. Yeah, probably just me being a d*ck
  18. This is somewhat awkwardly written, you could infer that "throwing a Maddux" included facing the minimum number of batters, which it does not. A Maddux is a complete game shutout with under 100 pitches. I know that he knows that, he intended "facing the minimum" to be an additional feature, not part of the Maddux.
  19. StanPapi was the greatest ever.
  20. Wasn't Florida part of his name?
  21. Wow, from the jaws of defeat.
  22. A pensioner who used to work here in Hamilton moved to San Diego and would call me a couple of times a year. I would always say "Hey Bob what's the temperature?" and he would say "75".
  23. I wanted them to trade Herndon and put Johnson in left.
  24. Wout Van Aert is cleaning up.
