  1. The priest was making a joke. Good grief.
  2. A Catholic priest said something funny a few years ago: "You can fill up a bowl with salt water, throw in a couple of rocks, leave it out in the sun and stare at it for 10,000 years and, I guarantee you, nothing is going to crawl out of there".
  3. No they don't. They are house pets whose continued existence is justified only because of some alleged positive influence on tourism. Being a non-executive "head of state" is a ceremonial role.
  4. They have no influence whatsoever, they have almost none in their own country. England has been trying for almost 80 years to preserve some sort of relevance internationally, to little effect. The Foreign Office needs their heads examined for continuing to send these clowns out there.
  5. He's not a world leader and his presence at environmental events is farcical. He should stay home and wave from the balcony, and his children should get jobs.
  6. I see that King Jughead of England has, predictably, flown a private jet to the COP summit to lecture everybody about the environment.
  7. I didn't, i just feel like everybody who truly understands Rule V will arrive on time and now that there are no more Covid restrictions around border crossings if you tell the Canadian customs guys that you are going to a Rule V party they will just wave you through. I already have the Rule V bunting over the front porch. My driveway only holds one extra car and I've always saved it for tiger337, so for everybody else just park at the church up around the corner. They don't like it but what can they do? They can't do nothing.
  8. Well you know, they aren't sending their best people. They are sending rapists and murderers, and they are infesting our country...it's an infestation.
  9. Netanyahu can't survive without Hamas, and vice versa. They are each other's perfect foil. So let's not blame the lack of a two state solution on Hamas. If Netanyahu had wanted a two state solution it would have happened a long time ago. He is the main reason why the two state solution was not implemented years ago.
  10. Olson will be the only number 2 starter in the league who looks like he might need to skip a start to go to the prom.
  11. Yes there are examples of groups who are motivated by their beliefs and accomplish great things, with a recent example being the Methodist church in Hungary. Which is why Orban hates them.
  12. Hamas does not want a two state solution. Neither does Netanyahu. It isn't in the best interests of either of them.
  13. The suggestion was made that the IDF soldier would not shoot. My suggestion is that he would.
  14. I believe that the IDF soldier keeps shooting and confidently says "if there was a war crime committed, it was committed by Hamas for using a human shield", like they say every day in real life. Netanyahu would drop an atomic bomb on them and consider the dead Palestinian child to be a bonus.
  15. It always struck me that if there was a destiny planned for each of us individually then there was no need for me to put out much of an effort.
  16. Yes and I think that they probably still are
  17. OK I am sold on Maeda, go get this guy. He's a useful back-of-the rotation piece who gives you some credibility in the marketplace for younger Japanese pitchers.
  18. I would put $100 down on Trump right now.
  19. In an outcome that is a surprise to no one, the far right anti-Islam Party for Freedom won more seats than any other party in national elections in the Netherlands. In the immediate postwar years thousands of Dutch people emigrated to Canada and took up farming, and every rural crossroads in Southern Ontario has a Dutch Reform church on it. And though I am always reluctant to assign personality characteristics to entire ethnic groups (I will leave that to my in-laws) the Dutch Reform church in Southern Ontario is a shining beacon of white supremacy.
  20. Good point, the international market hasn't been exploited well.
  21. 2013 was the real Nintendo season for him, he had over 40 home runs on September 1 if my memory is correct, and then suffered the first serious injury, a core muscle, that pretty much derailed the rest of his career.
  22. Nice year, but '87 stats have an Asterix because of the ball.
