If We Were Vampires is one of those for me. Especially after reaching that age and facing our version of "retirement" whatever that is. "Maybe we'll get 40 years together. One of us will have to be alone" edit..we're coming up on 43. As my wife remarked recently, "I think we've become that cute old couple some people talk about"

I recently watched Running With Our Eyes Closed, the documentary on Isbell and Amanda Shires. That led me to a deep dive into his music. So many songs that hit you in the tender spots. Incredible song writer and artist.

A couple of interesting results from yesterday's primary results near here. Two long time political gadflys lost bids for re-election. Democrat Joe Morrissey, who has been plagued for years by scandals, including reports of abuse by his much younger wife, lost in a race that focused on abortion rights. Amanda Chase, who calls herself "Trump in heels" and was also the person whom state republicans "maneuvered" the gubernatorial selection process to make sure Glenn Youngkin won, got her Trumpy heels handed to her by a bit more moderate candidate. The biggest upset came in Fairfax where long time Democrat Chap Peterson was defeated soundly. Peterson proudly displays a contrarian streak and partnered with Republicans to end mask mandates in schools. It was an extremely light turnout all over, but looks like more moderate voters are prevailing.

I just want two things out of Trump. 1) A written concession and a speech admitting that the 2020 election was indeed legitimate. 2) A promise that he will retire permanently from public life. No speeches, no interviews, no running for office. No meetings with public officials. He will be confined to his little bathroom in Florida.

It's an old manager's trick. It doesn't matter who he plays, he'll get similar results. What he is left with is drawing names from a hat. Managers have been doing it since John McGraw. You can look it up

I agree here. We hosted an event several years ago (an anniversary party) where any early arriving guests would have run into a confluence of painters and cleaning service finishing up just minutes before the scheduled start.

For those of us remembering band class, "Early is on time, on time is late" Unfortunately real life isn't band class. I used to get a bit annoyed when my work replacement walked in the door exactly on time. That usually meant by the time he was brought up to date and ready to take over, I put in an extra 10 minutes or so. There was one time recently that being early did work to my advantage. A recent visit to Duke Medical Center allowed all tests to be completed early. Then rather than having to occupy myself for two hours to see the physician, she was free and saw me almost immediately. I was back on the road 2 plus hours ahead of schedule.

I guess the MAGA's won't have Hunter to kick around any more...

It would be nice if the date actually holds or stays reasonably close. I wouldn't count on it though knowing the histories of the judge and the defendant.
