  1. That should give Nikki a vote, possibly two...
  2. Reminds me of the times I was volunteering at DTW, had a traveler ask about on of the shuttles. Told them to go down the escalator. He asked "how far"
  3. The color guy has long been considered second banana. It's considered a support role.
  4. They did do a split season playoff in 1981 with the strike season. The downside was St Louis and Cincinnati finished with best overall records in their divisions but didn't win either "half". With expanded playoff teams that could include the "best" overall teams in divisions if they don't win a half.
  5. We are in cable monopoly land. And for now pretty much the same for dependable internet service. I just don't trust T-Mobile or Verizon to be reliable for work plus streaming, etc. So for now Cox is the company store.
  6. The local cable kicks nothing free. Even their basic TV service kicks the bill to nearly $100. Unfortunately they're the only outlet for decent internet service.
  7. That was the way we went. Just could not justify the price of Youtube TV plus Sunday ticket. I took the option of NFL +. With the audio only i can actually get a few things done around the house.
  8. Just turn it into a coed flag football league. people will still get hurt tripping over their shoelaces during practice
  9. More often than not when an elected official leaves office staff members find similar jobs. Either with incoming legislators or n someone else's staff. So basically staff stays while the faces change. The question is who is actually pulling the strings.
  10. That's pretty much my thinking on term limits, especially after seeing in action. You end up with the legislative branch effectively being governed by non elected long time political staff who basically have no accountability. By the time the elected official gets up to speed their forced to move on. I'm in favor of terms for Supreme Court and other judges. They can be appointed "judges for life" but after a set number of years need to be rotated to another court or serve as "judge emeritus"
  11. This popped up in my feed today. In normal times it would deserve some discussion Given how badly I've seen term limits have worked in practice (Michigan) I have qualms about that one. However the executive branch didn't have limits until Truman (Thanks FDR). Banning stock trading and PACs and corporate donations seem like a good thing as well as judicial ethics.
  12. As long as the Party of Trump is being funded by billionaires who dream of becoming full fledged oligarchs nothing is going to change. We're back to Teapot Dome days. At least some if the ultra rich thought a bit about their legacy and funded things like libraries and such. These guys today have no retrospect of history and plan to live forever
  13. Same old RedsCommanders
  14. You over estimate a large segment of the so called conservatives.
  15. I've spent 40 plus years hearing about schemes to bring a major league team of some sort to Hampton Roads. Nothing has succeeded outside of the short lived stint for the Squires in the ABA. Carolina is perfect for minor league baseball, at least before Manfred started to meddle. There is no room in Durham for expansion, we've stayed at the Aloft next on my trips to Duke. The explosion around Knightdale the last few years has been something else.
  16. Who wants a ton of crappy pillows
  17. Would the upgrade the Bulls field or build a facility in Kingsdale?
  18. Washington's defense has been questionable, especially early in the game. I haven't been impressed with Howell either.
  19. Maybe when they all run out of money... Nah, that will never happen...they can still grift off the deplorables
  20. Have they searched his mattresses...
