One candidate on the ballot. Lines were smooth and steady. I saw a co-worker from work and shook his hand. He was working as a volunteer. I appreciated that he was ready to deal with the crazies coming for him just to make Democracy work.

My son in East Lansing confirms it is exactly like this there. He says he's been acquiring candy all month from people trying to get him to vote. He has already absentee voted for Virginia so he's able to get candy a plenty from the voting enthusiasts.

So, the EV numbers do appear to show that this has been a surge for Ds. 42m votes already banked which favor Dems This reflects an earlier number at 39M

42 million early votes cast already. hmmm. The total vote in Presidential year 2020 was 150m or so. not sure if this is good or not good enough.

I know that I've been on the other side of the "we expect to win but wtf happened" narrative a couple times. Late shifts hurt in 2016 and 2020. I was shocked by the late move to the Ds in 2000 for sure. Thought W had that one locked up.
