Pete Hegseth's bit about dust on his boots is interesting in light of Mattis, Esper, Miller and Austin his immediate predecessors back to Ashton Carton (who was a civilian through and through). I used to use the line "unless you've felt the weight of the rucksack on your back, you don't know" which is rhetoric used to win an argument in a college dorm but doesn't tell you anything about his knowledge of the PPBE, the JCIDS and Acquisition Process which was put in place over time to prevent the kind of graft that the Trump admin is planning. I learned about this during my first real job out of school while working in the Secretary of the Air Force's office for Acquisition and its bizonkers complex. I ran screaming in the other direction as soon as I could. My good friends who i work with in my softball league run joint programs with the US and UK to build nuclear submarines which has been built over several decades of careful diplomacy and stakeholder management, and another is a finance specialist with the Navy who works ship building programs and he's convinced that all the hullaballoo about delays in US shipbuilding are 100% the fault of the failure to budget consistently because of Congress playing games. Yeah, dust on your boots...good luck rummy. https://acqnotes.com/acqnote/acquisitions/ppbe-map

I think she's possibly hoping for something that is a starting negotiation point. NATO will be rebranded as Maga American Trump Organization (at least on the whiteboard in the oval office) and Trump won't care so long as he gets his Diet Coke when he pushes the button.

Mace is so messed up in the head. Rhetorically...I'll ask...what the hell happened to her? I know, I know...she's lost in the demonic pit of the anti-Christ that is the RW machine and sold her soul for 5 minutes of fame and whatever prescription drugs she's taking to bear up in all of this are not enough.

I don't trust this Kevin Rothrock...he seems untrustworthy...but Kevin Rothrock @kevinrothrock.me · 33m RT editor-in-chief is under fire from some even more pro-invasion pundits for saying in an interview released yesterday that Russia could settle in Ukraine for the already occupied territory and nothing more (“not even Odesa!?”), plus a pledge not to expand NATO to Ukraine. youtu.be/WjywprIqqM8

Makes sense.

Just read this on multiple sources. So, what was interesting is that she came out and said Russia would be ok with status quo in Ukraine as the settlement lines. And that was a bit provocative. Tell me you are ready to stop the war without saying you are ready to stop the war. Ukraine just needs to hold on and survive. We can deal with Trump and his sell out in due course. Didus Richard @bayohunter.bsky.social FROM KYIV POST UKRAINE 🇺🇦 x.com/KyivPost/sta... Infamous Kremlin propagandist Tigran Keosayan, husband of Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Russian propaganda outlet RT, has reportedly fallen into a coma, possibly as a result of a Ukrainian intelligence operation.

Isn't Verlander guaranteed some protections from trades because of his seniority. Now, Alex Cobb probably also would have that level of seniority too.

Oh yes, but its a faded memory for me. I actually forgot it was Aussie. I remember during the turnover of shifts at Selfridge command post for the unit i supported, I would flick on "Neighbors" on Channel 9 and enjoy a young but adorable Kylie Minogue who was in the cast. Australia, you are a great ally with many adorable females.

I had some riff about Rogers being swept away by the Prussian grippe because he was exposed to the harsh elements but in light of 2020 etc., i'll just meta that joke.

Those are some amazing names for capital ships.

Thinking about Reese Olson's rosacea it got me to thinking that Spencer Torkelson also has this condition. Maybe if we were better at international scouting... Just kidding there is nothing wrong with always looking embarrassed.

He leans into his rosacea.

Commanders is lame-ish as a name but a lot of contending names were just as lame. Red Tails (for the Tuskegee Airmen) would have been weird and led to a lot of unfortunateness. I really liked Washington Team Football as a name. Still, its not my football tradition. I've sat in amongst a lot of people who really are angry about losing the Redskins name where they cite the Seminoles or other tribal names for Native American teams that seem to work. I will sometimes try to spin it back on them with sarcasm about skin color being a bad basis for team naming. It gets political of course.
-
Commies? yikes. I realize we might not like them but they are hardly Leninist.
-
Not to mention he would be an inflexible element to a team that requires absolute flexibility.
-
I would say the franchise has a deficit of championships for our history. Not as bad as Cleveland or as agonizing as the Lions draught but still...come on, lets get another.
-
would love it if Broncos could steal that one. Too many family in Buffalo area to want them with skin in the game if Lions are in SB.

Did a family trip to the area this Summer. Crossed the Bridge everyday from the gilded suburbs by Muir Woods NP where the wife picked out an insanely awesome VRBO house. I can definitely see the appeal if you have cash. We were mystified by the economy of the boutique town of Mill Valley. I would put our drive down to Monterrey and back on the PCH as a bucket-list quality drive. Because this is a great album and a great drive combined: enjoy

If I had a chance to spend a meaningful part of my career in the bay area I'd give it a go. Nice place. Texas is its own weird thing; Michigan gives you the amazing summers and the bizonkers fans; New York was probably a fun stint especially with Kate's modeling world. But, yeah...if I had a choice I'd at least give the Bay area a brief prolonged stay.

Jim Thome also prob in his nightmares.

I do not know what the context of your post is since the original material is on ignore...but this amuses me

I'm relieved that Carlos Monnorez picked against the Lions to win SB. He has a track record of being a bad picker.

You never know what is going to knock you out of consideration for a gig. If Harris and Hinch (and Fetter?) all knew JV and knew their own clubhouse, you'd have to ask why he didn't pursue. Or, is it that JV felt that was a time in his life he wanted to move on from. Maybe there was a particularly mean kid on the leafy streets of Birmingham or Gross Isle that JV was bullied by?
