  1. The Oilers-Canucks series has been gripping. Too bad so late for Eastern viewers. Going with Packard over Skinner had to be done. Canucks fans are generally pleased, as the team has outperformed expectations this season and even with a 3rd string goalie are deadlocked with the Oilers. BUT there are some growing rumblings about the relatively low production of Petersson. 1G 3A 4Pts in 10 games.

Hronek is pointless in 10 playoff games. Finished the season with 48 points in 81 games. Not much different pace than the 38 points in 60 games with the Wings the season before. So he is what we thought he was. Didn't really take a big step forward this year after all, offensively.

  2. Keefe out as Leafs coach. No surprise there.

Canucks looked dead at 4-1 down late in the 2nd last night, almost as dead at 4-2 down midway through the 3rd. But a 3-goal in 5 minute flurry out of nowhere gave them them the 5-4. Held Edmonton to 16 shots on net for the game.

  3. I think Reese Olson must have done something to Tiger hitters in spring training to tick them off and get them to boycott him. Of course that doesn't explain the other days of the week the Tigers bats are silent as well.

  4. So here’s the thing about Marner. He’s a good player, but even if you can get him to waive his NMC, how could you trade him without retaining salary. Let’s say the Leafs say, ok, we want to trade him as a salary dump to sign someone else in his place. But who would actually give up significant assets to acquire him? If he was a free agent with no assets required to be given up, would anyone sign up for $11mm per?

Can you elaborate on the differences?

Since 1967, the Yankees have played in 11 World Series, winning 7 of them. They have 20 regular season division titles since 1967..
Since 1967, the Leafs have played in 0 Stanley Cup Finals. They have 2 regular season division titles since 1967 (even the Lions have 4).

this is why everyone hates toronto.

the yankees of canada except they NEVER WIN and talk **** like they have montreal's tradition.

They’re like Red Sox fans before 2004. I would hate to see them become like Red Sox fans after 2004.

just imagine how unbeliveably obnoxious they would be if they won.

i guess their announcer was WRONG that this time they were going to win it?  lol.

Exactly.  I’d throw them a bone with a playoff series win now and then, but I’m terrified of what would happen if they went on a run. So better just to kill them off early.

They're my Yankees. I don't think I can feel bad for them.

Leafs, Yankees, and Cowboys. No empathy.

I felt a twinge of empathy going into OT but knew full well I would regret showing any compassion if the Leafs ended up scoring.
