Coffey was one of the best skaters I've ever seen...
He was beautiful to watch.
In Canada, one of Coffey's best-known plays starts at the 1:10 mark of this clip with this intercepted pass and skate back up the ice that flips the rink and leads to the overtime winning goal against the Soviets 30 seconds later.
12 years later, in a World Cup semi vs Sweden, around the 50s mark of this clip he goes from his own goal line to the opposing blue line, leading to the OT winning goal.

So I think we can relax about 3 spots in the order - Greene, Carpenter, Canha. Now need to figure out how many of the other six spots are serviceable.

What's the normal length of time for a lacerated spleen?
To be honest, I don’t know. Any other team but Vegas and it may have not raise eyebrows. But given the Knights’ track record, seems suss

the top 3 are easy.
#4 is more debateable.
Probably Sawchuk. With decent gaps within each of the top 4. Howe-gap-Lidstrom-gap-Yzerman-gap - Sawchuk.

Maybe the NHL could subsidize the WNHL (Winnipeg's NHL team) the way NBA does for the WNBA. 🤪

Home teams 6-0 in the playoffs so far. Caps lost rather meekly to the Rangers yesterday.

Do you consider the Winnipeg market a success since they've returned to the NHL?
Very surprised they got the team back. Think they’ve done fine since their return. No margin for error though. Not a lot of corporate money in Winnipeg. Not a big population base. However, average Winnipegger has more disposable income than average Vancouverite or average Canadian. Still, they’re maybe a 5 cent Canadian currency drop away from being in deep doo doo.

Tigers win. Road record 8-3. Home record 4-7.

Tork misses his first homer of the season by a few hit with a double off the wall. 5-0 Tigers. Mize gives it over to Holton after a 6-inning, 90 pitch, 0 runs outing.

Winnipeg, Edmonton, Quebec City and Hartford only got NHL teams because of the fluke of the WHA merger. None would have been considered otherwise. Calgary is probably the most viable of the Canadian cities outside of Montreal-Toronto-Vancouver. Quebec City, even with its new modern arena, could not support an NHL team, IMO, and is well down the list of likely expansion targets.

Meadows makes the final out with a fly ball to the warning track. 4-3 final.

Javy comes through! Tying run in scoring position. 4-2.

If they had really wanted to be creative with the alternates, they could have gone with all-gold. Closer to the color of lions in the wild. Anzalone with his mane almost could have passed as a real lion.

Tigers win! 3 games behind the Indians, 4 games ahead of the Twins.

And ..we’re tied.

4-2 Tigers. With a rare chance (2 on, 0 out) chance to bust one open for a change
I jest. I meant a chance to end the inning with a pop out to the pitcher and a double play.

Free run
Official scoring is so meaningless now. 20 years ago that would have been a single and an error.
How many of Tork’s 8 RBIs have come via hits to the infield.

I worry about the offense if the Wing lose both Ghost and Kane. Sign Ghost, let Kane walk, sign another goal scorer. Any 30 year old out there who is coming off an injury or somewhat down year who would sign a 1 or 2 year deal to prove himself?
