Did you ever think you would miss Bud Selig?

Rob Manfred can't even figure out what ball to use. You want him to master this?

We need to get a boycott started. People stop going to games, empty that place out - embarrass this owner (if that's possible). Enough already. As long as Chris breaks even he's not changing anything.

Seriously, I think anyone from this board could run a team and do this. Pay me that salary, at least you'll have the excuse of me not being a baseball guy, because YOUR "baseball guy" is a schmuck.

Too early to call Tork a bust. Plenty of guys who had great careers had terrible rookie seasons. Doesn't help that he was dropped into the middle of a shit lineup. Where is Grossman getting traded? And why hasn't it happened yet? Tell me the logic of keeping a guy around who is not part of the future when we should be looking at Daz, Baddoo or even Carpenter everyday? Why is Scott Coolbaugh still employed? Obviously he has not found any solutions for veteran hitters like Schoop and Candy Now Garcia is out and he was pitching well. Who the hell is Garrett HIll? Our 14th starter this year - in half a season. Meanwhile, according to Chris, the rebuild is over, it's been a successful season and whatever tradable pieces we have left (bullpen arms), are in the hands of Al Fucking Avila, who will probably draft a high school pitcher again. And where the hell is Eduardo Rodriguez and is he really out of touch, and if he is, are you morons still paying him? Good night.

Before Riley 24-40, 169 runs scored, 2.64 a game Since Riley 6-6 58 runs schored, 4.83 a game He's energized this team.

On the news they said the last time back to back for a walk off was 1952. Thankfully Baseball Refence has a little "wo" next to walk off scores. The last Tiger who had a Walk Off for his first home run? Lou Whitaker, July 28, 1978. Tigers 4, Mariners 3. He hit it off Enrique Romo with Ron LeFlore on first base. Dave Rozema got the Complete Game win to go 5-5 with a 2.97 ERA. For those of you under 30, a Complete Game was a thing where pitchers pitched an entire game.

..........and Madlock with the hard slide of the century in Toronto...................

September 9, 1952 Tigers 5, Red Sox 4 as Cliff Mapes & Joe Ginsberg hit back to back home runs to tie and then win it. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/DET/DET195209090.shtml

I watched Dazed And Confused yesterday. No, it's not a documentary about the Tigers front office. Anyway, I hadn't seen it in a long time. This horrifying thought came to me. That if they made a new Dazed And Confused with the same time period in flashback, it would be about the last day of school in 2005.

Wow, what Riley just said in the post game "With Candy and Schoop in this lineup the rest of us know we have to step up and do more since they are so useless" Wow.

Craig Monroe just yelled HE GOT BUSH...................That'll be a drop on 97.1 forever.

Interesting that all I learned about George "Washington" Carver is that he invented Peanut Butter (which is only partially true). He was and is one of the most most important and influential botanical scientists in our history, but nah, that part got skipped over.

Part of me thinks that overturning Roe v. Wade was needed at this particular moment. It should rile up Democrats to vote more than anything. If this doesn't do it, we're probably in for a very rough decade ahead - where people like Marjorie Taylor Greene are the norm. It's scary as fuck. I don't want women's rights taken away, but something needs to wake us the hell up. Women can still go to certain states. , We need to stop nitpicking if the candidates we get aren't perfect. To me, the first move would be to add two diverse and populated states to the early primaries, like Pennsylvania & Colorado. Starting everything in Iowa and New Hampshire (Two of the lowest 6 minority states without a single large city). is a really dumb move for Democrats to not have more minority and city voters in the early states. Katie Porter in '24 !

A group of educators in Texas put in a very large proposal, in the middle of this proposal that they wanted to refer to Slavery as "Involuntary Relocation". Someone caught it and it was rejected to the State Board Of Education. I had to check and double check and triple check to make sure it wasn't The Onion. It was not. And they snuck it in the middle like Van Halen with the "No Brown M&Ms" trick they put in the Technical rider to see if specifications were being met. What's next, referring to Auschwitz and an "Involuntary Spa" ? We are dangerously close to these people running things, because this stuff just 10 years ago was totally laughed at by almost everyone, now more than half of one political side is okay with this kind of stuff.

Oh, I just read that no concussion and x-rays looked good. a facial bruise. Thanks for the earflap..................without that and that's a Tony Conigliaro situation.
-
What's the latest, is he okay? He looked to be a bit stunned (as we all would), but he didn't seem to be in tremendous pain.

Lots of great things happening at District Detroit too. 85% of the street lights are working. What progress. In other news - Brad Galli just lost his press credentials.

The way this year's going? 3 year IL ................. Seriously, I hope he's okay............no broken jaw............even getting hit in the helmet like that can rattle your cage.

To obtain the 7 limousines for the wedding party, my father used up his last favor with Mad Pete Trullo .

Look, Big Mike is hanging in there and I appreciate the effort. Didn't expect him to be his sharpest or to go long tonight after 2 limited starts at Tony Packo Town. He sweats a lot. He's no Nate Cornejo, mind you, but he does sweat a lot.

I am sure Al has something incredible up his sleeve for starting pitching after the trade deadline. What's Mike Pelfrey doing? Hey Zimm, wanna come out of retirement?
